This was the third, and clearly newest/nicest of the three SpringHill Suites I've stayed at, and definitely would recommend for someone looking for a safe and clean place to stay for a night or two. Myself, I was driving from Houston to Kansas City (~11 hours without stops, traffic, or road work) and decided to split it into 2 days cause of the sun setting earlier (cause winter) and I haven't driven much the past 10 years (lived in Korea). The area around the hotel seems to be growing, and the area right around the hotel seems to be newer and nicer than most of the extended surrounding area. Finally, completely unrelated to the hotel, but anyone taking I35 through Oklahoma City, be prepared! Those roads could use their own infrastructure bill! I thought I had a tire blow out, but it was just a really, really, REALLY bumpy road, with potholes all along the right side of the lane.

LaTi (Front desk sounds like La Tea) helped me out of a potentially memorable issue today. I sent my daughter on a summer choir trip and I forgot to send her with black pants, that was a required for the concerts. Major Parent foul. I’m now 2 hours away, so I got target to express deliver some pants ( so expensive ) to the hotel but I need to put someone down as the recipient. I called the hotel and asked LaTi if she would help us by taking the delivery and making sure it got to my daughter when she arrived. What a blessing she is! She took it and brought it to my daughter 10 minutes after she arrived to her room. I didn’t have to worry about it. She is trustworthy, responsible, and has great customer service! Worthy of way more than this review! Thank you LaTi!

As expected, staff are very friendly just as anywhere else we feel about Oklahoma City. We were told the place is 9-month old (Christmas, 2017) so everything looks and feels very new. The work area feels very cozy and comfortable and also is well separated from the bed. The TV position is kinda weird since it's on one side of the bed, but it's OK for us since we don't watch much TV. Two things we feel might need a little tweaking. The AC is very loud, but that's something that becomes standard nowadays. And the bathroom does not have ventilation <-- kinda annoying.

Staff was rude throughout our stay. We stayed two nights in a double queen suite (2 adults & 4 children).

I went to the front desk to ask for extra towels first night (he saw we had just went swimming), he hesitated then asked was there already dirty ones in the room. I said there will be once we all 6 shower. He then asks for my room number before he gives them to me. I felt as if I was being unnecessarily questioned.

Throughout our two day stay, we were confronted about a few of us not wearing a mask, which we understood and explained it was misplaced on accident. We always wear a mask everywhere we go but it just so happened two or three times out of countless times of us leaving our 1 st floor room out the lobby a few of us didn’t have one (nobody was around any times except staff at desk which were 20ft front us). Which by the way per OKC ordinance, only children 11 & up are required to wear masks, the children who misplaced theirs were 9 & 10 plus my boyfriend and I once. It was our fault, I will admit but the dirty looks by the staff were completely uncalled for especially considering I watched a man and women walk into the hotel as we were leaving and check in WITHOUT a mask.

Lastly, I was granted a late check out at 2pm by the gentlemen on night shift, which I wasn’t expecting so late and had planned on leaving before then but I was walked in by housekeeping at 12pm to which I explained to them I had a late check out. Then management called me immediately after questioning me which I explained to her the same thing. She told me, not asked me, that I had leave by 1pm because they were busy and the gentleman was new and gave it to me on accident to which I replied okay, no problem I was anyways. 12:50pm, house keeping comes in again & had to tell them we were about to walk out the door.

I went to the front desk to let them know I felt disrespected by the late checkout incident and her tone seemed sincere but her response was only that communication wasn’t relayed with housekeeping, as they have trouble speaking English? They spoke perfectly fine to me. I didn’t bring any of the other incidents up in person because I was already frustrated. The hotel itself was very clean, nice and orderly. I just wish the staff would’ve treated us with better respect as a paying customer instead of giving us dirty looks and making us feel like we didn’t...

Sports team travelers beware! This hotel has a zero tolerance policy with alcohol in their lobby. Zero, none! Their front desk employee was extremely rude and threatened to kick our entire team block out of the hotel, and call the police because we gathered in the lobby to watch college baseball, and have a drink all because it was downpouring outside. This employee made a huge scene, and treated our entire group of parents like a bunch of kids. Telling us to "go to our rooms"! Our group wasn't loud or causing any issues. This was all around 3pm in the afternoon. This employee referenced the language in our contract, but also went onto say this was a "state law". Funny, the hotel next door knew nothing about this law, and welcomed out team over there to have a drink. Secondly, we were never informed of this when we did the team block. Even after we all left the area, this same rude employee felt is necessary to threaten to charge families full price + additional fees because we were breaking our contract. One of these families threatened, wasn't even part of our hotel block. This employee was just trying to make a point. It took the manager coming out to the front to get things straightened out. Ridiculous! ||Preface: We've stayed at this hotel now two years in a row during the WCWS. We didn't have this issue last year. Last year the stay was great, rooms were clean, location was great, staff was great. They even let us check out a night early with no penalties which was awesome. We booked this hotel almost a year in advance to ensure we had the same great experience,||This year was much different! Outdoor patio furniture is extremely worn, and looks terrible. Rooms & hotel overall was very clean. They had staff cleaning at all times. Room keys/mobile keys were an issue the entire stay. The room keys worked 50% of the time, so you'd have to go to the front desk and get new keys all the time. Mobile keys never worked. Needless to say, we will NEVER be staying at this hotel again. This particular location gives the Marriott brand a very bad name. There are plenty of hotel options in the Del City area, so I'd suggest looking at other locations before you consider...

First, the bad. When I checked in, the room was beat up in several places. There was really bad staining on the console under the TV. The pole thing for the curtains was broken off. Some of the walls were peeling. Also, the rooms were not cleaned often enough. There was some kind of letter saying something about reduced cleaning procedures for COVID or something like that, but I don't believe that COVID is an acceptable excuse anymore. If you're short staffed or struggling to make a profit I'd much rather hear an honest explanation than some continued public relations propaganda pitch about how you're trying to limit exposure to COVID. My trash was overflowing every day because it wasn't taken regularly (and the receptacles are tiny). My dirty towels were often ignored. I did not use them excessively - every other day or so I had a washcloth or towel that needed to be replaced and they just sat on the floor for days at a time. Glasses (like the actual glass ones) were not replaced frequently enough. When I asked about the glasses, I was told that they were "out" (i.e., they just weren't doing the dishes). Finally, this one is minor, but there was supposed to be a bar onsite and when I got there I was told that it was not in operation. Overall, I expected a higher level of service from a Marriott brand.

The room itself was comfortable overall, with a good shower and a nice bed. There is also a good little desk nook for getting work done and a nice sofa. There is a fridge and a microwave that worked fine, although a freezer partition would have been nice. The AC unit seemed to go from super stuffy to blasting ice cold air and struggled to keep a temperature consistent.

That said, there were some good things. The staff were very friendly, the fitness center was nice, and the daily breakfast was decent. It is also in a good location close to Tinker and right across the street from several dining options. Those are the aspects that make this a 3 star review instead...
