In the beginning, food and delivery was great. We've bought delivery at least 4 times in the few months since moving here to Sioux Falls. Really like the old man who was our delivery driver in the past. Each time we spent about $80 per delivery including a $10+tip as we always order the same thing....always. Our previous order before this one, the food tasted okay, not as great as before. This recent delivery tonight though made up my mind that we would not be ordering here again. The delivery girl was very nice. Tipped as usual but saw that our order was missing a large container of egg drop soup. I learned the first time we ordered here that you HAVE to specify a large container or they will give you a $1 single serving size, which I had done, but was given a small size. I called and they said they charged me for a small container but if that was case our order wouldn't have been at our usual price. I also had ordered specifically just for the soup. The woman I spoke with sounded very irritated and impatient with me for wanting the size I had requested. She said would would a container, hung up, then called back saying they accidentally gave me an extra order of dumplings, and if that was okay in place of the soup. I told her I would give back the order of dumplings in place of the soup and she continued to sound irritated with this. In the end I got the soup I ordered but the owners reaction and the poor quality of the food as we started to eat (the house fried rice was old with hard dried pieces of rice) has discouraged me from ever ordering here again. With the amount that we spend and how nicely we always tip, you think they wouldn't be so unhappy about fixing a small issue for a good customer but apparently that's not...
Read moreMy friend and I wanted Chinese, and searched Google for places with good reviews. We chose this restaurant. When we walked in there was literally no one there. That should have been our first clue.
We ordered crab rangoon, chicken corn soup, garlic chicken, and beef with mushrooms. The crab rangoon came. It's hard to mess up crab rangoon. They managed to, though- the filling had a plastic-y aftertaste and they were over-fried. The sweet and sour sauce was tart, and not in a good way. My soup, however, was delicious.
Our entrees arrived. One bite, and we both knew there was no way we could eat them.
After waiting nearly 10 minutes, the server finally poked her head out of the kitchen and I motioned to her. She came, we told her what was wrong. She said, "Well, I don't cook the food so you'll have to talk to the boss."
The manager came out. We told her that the food was inedible, and we would pay for the crab rangoon and soup we'd eaten, but not the entrees. She proceeded to tell us that:
We told her we would not come back, and we would make sure others...
Read moreWe came in not fully knowing what to expect as the outside seems a little sketchy but our hesitation was quickly removed as we were greeted by very friendly staff. They interior had great decorations which I loved, however there was virtually no sound so it was really quiet and made me feel like I needed to whisper the whole time. Other than recommending a little music, I really liked the place and the sparkling tables. Also heads up, they serve the drinks in cups that day Pepsi but they serve Coke so if you have an issue with that, now you know lol.
We ordered off the chef suggestion portion of the menu and got the Happy Family and the Chicken in a nest, which comes in an edible taco salad style bowl. When the Happy Family meal was served, it was poured onto a hot place and served to our table which was a bit showy and fun. I enjoyed it.
When we were all finished, we asked for to go boxes and our waitress brought us an extra box of rice! She said you need more rice with leftovers and I agree and she is the best for that!
The food was good and the service was nice. They have a good sized menu if you need lots of options and I...
