Really fairly disappointed and now angry. We (my family) got food two days in a row. First time was ok but my sandwich was missing the Russian dressing and no silverware or napkins were in our to go order. We were there on 4/19 at around 4:45. We gave them a second chance the next day on Easter. We stopped in to get some items to take with us back to Virginia. First issue was when I checked my daughter's bagel ( supposed to be toasted with cream cheese) it was missing the cream cheese. When I gave it to Carry to fix, the young woman in the kitchen argued with her that it didn't have cream cheese even though it's on the receipt and Carry showed her. Secondly, our order was incomplete and I didn't catch it! The hamantaschen wasn't in our order (4) and we didn't find out until we got home. I called the next day ( Monday the 21st at about 11) and spoke with a younger man who stated that he would refund our money for the Hamantaschen. I gave him date, time, server, order number and my name. That was over a week ago and I now have no faith that any action will be taken. We're now going to file with our CC Company and dispute the charges. We're very disappointed and based on how this was handled, we won't be going back. A mistake once, ok.... A mistake the next day with every opportunity to correct said mistake along with a commitment to do so from an on duty manager.... No longer a mistake! Poor business for an incredibly expensive product.... Check your orders and receipts if you do go there. I would say a 100% error rate in 2 days is a pretty poor showing.

Finally got around to trying "Delmarva's Only Jewish Deli" and came away unimpressed. The Rehoboth Beach store has all the trappings of  the stereotypical Jewish Deli (celebrity caricatures on the walls, dessert case stocked with a variety of sweets, dine-in and take out options, etc.).  Food portions are reasonably sized, not the overwhelming "one sandwich will feed a family of four" servings one finds in delis in North New Jersey and New York. The overall quality of the food is about what you would expect to find in a basic diner. My lox platter consisted of a choice of Nova or Belly Lox, cream cheese, choice of (toasted) bagel, tomato, onion, cucumber, capers, and olives. It's a better deal than just ordering the lox and cream cheese on a bagel sandwich because the extras like tomato, onion, etc, come at an extra charge. The portion was satisfying for a late breakfast. We brought home some of their corned beef and pastrami for sandwiches later. Both were tender and moist and nicely sliced. Flavor wise, they didn't differ much from what you might get from the deli counter at your grocery store. If you are in the proximity of one of their restaurants and absolutely must satiate your "Jewish Deli" cravings, Rosenfeld's might do. If you are expecting exemplary samples of the Jewish delicacies, you will likely be disappointed.

We've stayed away the first few weeks, letting them get settled in. We finally went last week in the middle of the afternoon and the place was empty. We tried a Reuben, a pastrami &corned beef & a potato knish. The servings were generous, but the meat was definitely dry. We had to ask for extra mayo and dressing. the potato knish was very bland, I've definitely had better elsewhere. I was surprised that there were not more meats in the cases, to order for take-home. Kind of bare. We loved the onion rings, perfectly cooked! But, what we both hated were the potato chips that come with every sandwich. They're the kind that they fry themselves, but clearly they are overcooked and burned. Every bite tasted burned and rancid, as if they never clean their oil. Blech. Rosenfeld's needs to go try the chips at Surf Bagel, they do them right. We didn't try the desserts, they look enormous, but i guess we will give the place another few weeks before coming back to try again. Overall, we thought it was expensive for the sandwiches. Lunch for two was more than $50, with no dessert and just 2 sodas. I will say, I liked being served pickles while we were waiting, and the waitresses were most Pleasant, friendly, and attentive. I think our server's name was Nonni? She was great.

Having moved here from NYC, I really wanted to love this place. I love good matzoh ball soup, brisket, pastrami, kasha, and knishes. One time I went with 8 neighbors. The food was great and after the meal, we paid the bill at the table, but then went in to the shop side to buy some stuff to take home - all of us picked out things from babka to Dr. Brown sodas, but the person at the checkout was dealing with a take-out customer who was asking endless questions about nutrition, ingredients, and cooking style. The other person behind the counter was basically idle while the 8 of us waited at least five minutes with no movement. All of us put the items back on the shelf and left without buying.

On another occasion, I went in with my partner about an hour before closing time and we ordered soup in a pot and brisket in a pot. We waited at least 45 minutes for the food to come out, with not a peep from the waiter as to why it was taking so long. There was no apology or explanation, and we were about 30 minutes late to our next appointment.

With guests at our house, I decided to do take-out. We ordered chicken in a pot with matzoh ball, brisket in a pot, and maybe a few sides. When I got home, I went to serve everything and saw that there were no matzoh balls in the soup. In the restaurant, the soup was full of yummy stuff, but the take-out was clear with just a little debris on the bottom, and of course, no matzoh balls. Major disappointment.

The most recent time, after being seated, it took almost five minutes before a server came to the table. 5 minutes may not be long, but depending on who you are sitting with, that can be an eternity. Pickles never came and we had to ask for them. We ordered a Reuben and a few knishes. The knishes came out cold and chewy. That's a major disappointment since a potato knish usually has a hot crusty outer shell with hot mashed potatoes inside. A kasha knish was also tepid at best.

I've noticed a trend where the wait staff congregates by the order entry computers to chat, when we keep hoping they would come to the table and refill water, give us an update, or even bring another Dr. Brown's soda.

All in all, I will still go back there with hopes that either an owner or someone from management will read this post and take note that there are issues. I am in retail and every penny that goes in my POS helps the business, so if you have someone working the POS who can't figure out how to put a high-maintenance customer on hold for a moment while they take care of 8 customers with money-in-hand, you should change them ASAP (that experience was about a month after you opened in RB). If it's going to take an eternity for the food, please let the customer know why. Please check on the customers right from the get-go. Please make sure all the food is done with the highest quality - knishes are a trademark and if the person is just throwing them in a microwave to heat them up, it's not a good representation of a knish - it will be chewy. When we did have the brisket in a pot, it was over-the-top delicious as was the chicken in a pot, but the take-out person has one chance to make it right, and they messed up our order by omitting the critical matzoh balls. By the time that's discovered, it's too late to go back and fix it.

My rating of 3 stars is because, when the food is GOOD, it is fantastic, but when the service (whether wait staff or at the shop) is poor, it really offsets the food. Best of luck and I'll be back...

We made our first trip to Rosenfeld‘s on Thursday of this week, right before Memorial Day weekend. We were specifically at the Rosenfeld‘s Deli in Rehoboth. I totally agree with the review that stated how confusing and unclear it was to know who was waiting, how to place an order, which line to be in, ask a question (forget it!) etc. The staff was identified by their Rosenfeld T-shirts, but they so ignored everyone that was in there it was hard to believe that they actually worked there. There was one man and 2 middle-aged women working and when they did finally acknowledge a customer they were rude and condescending. All three of them. Definitely made you feel like if you didn’t know the system, you might as well just leave empty-handed, because it appeared that would be fine with them. I debated leaving when I saw one of the women open up the counter with the cannolis, etc. in it, reach her bare hands in with no gloves or paper, pull out a few cannolis, put them in a to-go box and then close the lid (something I would’ve been uncomfortable with even pre-Covid) but for some reason that in looking back I just can’t understand, we decided we would overcome the staff's attitude, and we eventually placed our order at the counter.

As for the food, the rainbow cookies we bought looked beautiful, but unfortunately were tasteless and we ended up throwing them away. The carrot cake was a very generous portion but unfortunately after taking it home and having a few bites, it was disposed of in the trash as well. The one-pound eclair, however, was everything we had hoped for, and is the reason we went there in the first place.

To be fair I would consider giving them one more try for the food, but I’m skeptical that this was a one time, terrible horrible no good very bad day for the entire counter-side staff. And I must say that in reading the reviews and many of the comments by the owner at the Rehoboth location, I can’t support businesses with people that treat customers so unkindly. Times are hard for everyone, and if someone patronizes your business I would think you would want to welcome them rather than disrespect them, both with your actions and your words, in person and in print.

Just my observation...
