HORRIBLE!!!!! I’ve been a Marriott member for about 4 years and due to their rewards I only stay at Marriott properties. I usually love my experience with Marriott but this may have been my last booking with them due to this assenine property. From the second I walked in I was greeted by a less than friendly front desk host, and had to ask for my member perks when usually it’s automatic and they thank you for being elite member- none of that was done but I didn’t think too much of it. Went to check out room and realized that gave us the wrong room. I called the hotel number at 3:14 an hour before we arrived and spoke with a woman on the phone about a queen room with two beds as I only saw king on the app (where I usually book), she informed me that since I was a member she would check and see if they had two queen beds available. She came back and said she had good news and was able to book the queen room with the same member rate as the king at 209.00 per night. When I told the manager Russell there he told me they didn’t have the room available and that it wasn’t his fault that she told me that on the phone because it had nothing to do with their property. Mind you I called THEIR hotel phone number directly l and was apparently transferred to somewhere outside of the country per the hotel manager (which I didn’t know at the time). As a customer that called the right number I asked him how I’m supposed to know that I’m not speaking to the property directly and he said “I’m telling you now”. After you’ve already charged my card and I’m in the hotel with an issue how is that helpful? He proceeded to act like he was doing me a favor by voiding my card for the hold even though their company is the one that told me incorrectly information as we would have went to another hotel. Then I asked him to please transfer the deposit to the Marriott up the road because we can’t afford to have a 500 dollar hold while also having to book a new hotel now. He kept telling me how it’s the credit card company and not him but then proceeded to say he would “see what he can do”. He goes on to book the hotel up the road then proceeds to try to charge my card a NEW deposit for a different Marriott hotel after I just told him I couldn’t afford another charge. This was 20 minutes after our original conversation so he had me waiting for an extra 20 minutes just to do what I asked him not to in the first place. The entire time he acted as if he was doing me a favor and taking NO accountability for what happened and blaming anyone but Marriot. I even told him as a member I only stay at these properties and expect more and he shrugged his shoulders. I will be contacting corporate for the voice recording and compensation for a total of 45 minutes and wasted time and energy. We came here for a funeral to be treated any kind of way and I even told him...
Read moreOur extended stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Rehoboth Beach has been exceptionally comfortable and accommodating for our entire family. The hotel’s spacious bedroom suite featuring separate living and sleeping areas, provided ample room for everyone, including our adult children and grandchildren. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare meals conveniently, adding a homely touch to our stay.
The hotel’s amenities significantly enhanced our experience. We began each day with a complimentary full breakfast, offering a variety of hot and cold options to suit all ages. It’s too cold to use the outdoor pool area, complete with a firepit and BBQ facilities, but I’m sure it would have been favorite spot for family gatherings and relaxation. Additionally, there’s the on-site fitness center, equipped with modern equipment including a Peloton bike.
The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring the vibrant communities and attractions of the Cape Region. We enjoyed visits to the nearby Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk, renowned for its charming shops, restaurants, and family-friendly amusements. The proximity to Tanger Outlets offered excellent shopping opportunities, while the scenic beauty of Cape Henlopen State Park provided a perfect setting for outdoor activities such as hiking and bird-watching.
The staff at Residence Inn demonstrated exceptional professionalism and warmth, promptly addressing any requests and ensuring our stay was seamless. The hotel’s pet-friendly policy was an added bonus, allowing us to include our four-legged family members in our temporary home.
Overall, the Residence Inn by Marriott Rehoboth Beach has provided a welcoming and comfortable environment during our transitional period. Its well-appointed accommodations, comprehensive amenities, and convenient location make it an excellent choice for both short-term and extended stays in the Rehoboth Beach area.
One negative. The desktop computer/printer was useless, making working from that area impossible. It barely worked. Fortunately, I was able to have staff do my...
Read moreThey don't like to clean. They tell you they will come every 2 days but then they only take trash when they do come. I called down as it appeared housekeeping didn't do much of anything other than taking the trash and after a snobby front desk response the housekeeping came back to our room and argued a case about only having to "refresh" the room which is what they call it, rather than doing a "full" clean. The problem is the room was half cleaned when we arrived to begin with ..as if it was only "refreshed." There were stains on the walls of the shower, I broke out from dust mite bites in the bed. (I have an allergy so I know when things are dusty.) I also called for fresh sheets since they dont make your bed and the front desk said he will see what he can do....I dont know what the housekeeping does all day because a woman brought me the sheets with a scowl on her face. They must just be hanging out during the day. There is a sense of laziness...the young man who checked us in did not disclose there would be an additional incidental charge in case of damages and also did not tell us anything about the amenities...he also put us in a handicap room when that wasn't what we booked and did not tell us that was all he had ready...the seat in the shower had dirt and hair which I had to clean myself...pillow cases were wrinkled.
On a separate note, the bar is nice and it offers food for an additional price. Drinks were NOT watered down which I appreciated.
I also appreciated the free breakfast options, but it is mostly highly processed foods..like Jimmy Dean sandwiches and powdered eggs.
I would not recommend and would not return because of the lack of cleaning..I am shocked they do not clean more regularly for an apartment style hotel that allows DOGS...I could smell dog odor in the living room sofa....The hotel will be run down fast if they don't figure the cleaning...
