First off this Sodel whoever this is, is not doing what they should do to keep customers coming back. Yes the brewery part keeps everyone coming back but we have been to your Thompson and Ocean View and we think the service and the food is getting terrible. Second you got rid of the macaroni which I loved and put Cole slaw in its place. Not everyone can eat coleslaw. Prices are so high and it isn't worth it. Third, we went to Thompson today for October festival and it took 20 minutes to get waited on. We didn't even know who are waiter was and then a girl came and said I'll take your drink order. Kyle is so busy. We ordered the hamburger and my partner ordered the Henny Chicken and all she got was chicken and biscuits for 26.00. My hamburger looked like it was dropped and put back together and slapped on the roll. I ordered French fries without salt and got them with salt and another thing on your fries, you should change them. They are horrible once they get cold, they get hard. Then Kyle comes when the meal is over after never attending to us. He gets a bag and our check. What the heck. Who was getting the tip????? These days money is tight and when you go out, you expect great customer service and a decent amount of food. Horrible that several people were juggling our table and nobody asked us if we wanted desert. Whoever is running these places needs to sharpen up on customer service and training your employees. I get it that this a resort area and it's alot of bar food, but really for 26.00 for the chicken and a biscuit. I believe at the other branch in ocean view you get more with that chicken order. Don't think we will be back. Been to Ocean view several times and once to Thompson. Felt the same way all times but we were willing to give it a try again. Deciding this was not what we...
Read moreThompson Island Brewing Co. in Rehoboth, Delaware, has long held a special place in our family's dining rotation every summer. Past visits have been nothing short of excellent, with delicious food and a lively atmosphere that always left us eager for more. Unfortunately, our most recent experience was a stark departure from the high standards we'd come to expect, leaving us questioning whether we'd recommend it to others.
From the start, our dinner was plagued by issues. The tuna poke, a usual favorite, arrived with rice that was noticeably undercooked – hard and crunchy, making it largely inedible. A refreshing frozen lemonade, previously a hit with the kids, was so overwhelmingly sour that they refused to take more than a single sip. This was particularly frustrating given their past enjoyment of the same drink and the increase in price at $5 a cup. The main courses, fish and chips and fried chicken, both suffered from an excessive greasiness that suggested the cooking oil hadn't been changed recently. The heavy, unappetizing coating detracted significantly from the flavor and overall enjoyment of the dishes.
It's truly a shame to see such a decline in food quality at a place we've previously championed. While the ambiance remains pleasant, the execution in the kitchen, inattentive serving staff and uncleaned utensils on this visit had left much to be desired. We sincerely hope this was an anomaly, but based on this recent experience, it's difficult to enthusiastically recommend Thompson Island to others unless there's a significant improvement in their kitchen's consistency...
Read moreAwesome experience at Thompson Island Brewing Company! Came for lunch on 7/17/22 Sat and sat at the two longer tables towards the back. Everything from the food to the service to the atmosphere was superb. My family couldn't have asked for a better first meal on our annual summer vacation to Delaware.
First of all, our waiter was friendly, attentive, and made sure our dining experience was excellent. I wish I had his name to shout him out. He was so good. He made spot on recommendations and was really just a great example of what the hospitality industry should be about.
Second, the food and drinks were great. Obviously, I got a flight and what I also loved was that my wife could order a single 5 oz glass since she doesn't want to drink as much at least get a taste. Love that the beer is all made in-house and with great variety. You could tell they take pride in their beer making. I got the Naptime Birria Burger and definitely had to let my wife do the driving to our vacation home. We saw other people on Yelp recommend the Hawaiian Chicken which was good as well.
Third, the atmosphere is very open, pleasant, and just fun. It's well decorated, clean, and you could tell they took care to make it inviting. We will definitely come back here again. Well done, Thompson...
