We haven’t been to one for years but she was longing for a Bloom N’ Onion & we’ve driven past this spot a hundred times. Funny thing is trying to get in the parking lot sucks. Unlike so many other like places , it has no direct access off RT-1. Even Google Maps was a little wacky as it took us to the storage site next door and kept asking us how happy we were…We figured out the path through an apartment complex without any signage (just take that light before the location and polk around behind the CVS on “19917 Sea Blossom Blvd”.
Kyle, our nice waiter was very personable & got us going with drinks and the for mentioned blooming onion. He made recommendations on mains: I ordered the 16 oz OB style Prime Rib & she got the Ribeye w/ loaded baked potato with a fancy salad. Service was swift with food delivery and our only nits were once the mains dropped, Kyle was missing in action; I hoped to show him the required med rare was lacking in redness. Silly me, I know the deal if the meat isn’t right, you’d better speak up fast or nothings going to happen. I also know when staff is avoiding me thus I should have taken a walk to find someone but darn I hate that and next thing you know she is done eating & you haven’t even started cause you’re waiting for another steak and you wonder about ticking off the chef…& I was hungry so I just went on and ate my freaking dinner but when Kyle reappeared I couldn’t help but point out my half eaten situation. I didn’t ask for another steak or compensation just wanted the kitchen to know they might want to keep a closer eye on stuff. Kyle indicated things could be done and he would send his manager over. Deep sigh. I’m regretting any time I’ve had to have a conversation with a suit in a steakhouse but… well this was an Outback…
Wow! This guy had a fast patter as he walked up. It was dazzling. In a flash he threw in our onion and like that, he was gone with the wind.
When we got home I asked her about her dinner and she said the steak was cooked fine but perhaps she wasn’t wild about how enthusiastic they seasoned it. Of course with the minor hubbub over my steak; nobody ever asked her about her food.
Funny I found that counterintuitive because my Caesar salad and potato soup starters were shallow, not to be complained about yet so without flavor, I just say they were totally unremarkable.
So some stuff is bland; some stuff is overly seasoned.
I guess there are...
Read moreFirst time for us to visit this place 6 days ago, and the waiter that attended us as a family of 7 was kind, attentive, and prompt in providing good service. As a large family we at very well and enjoyed it....
However, my son had an Ice cream Brownie desert which I along with his brother shared because it was a very big portion. We also ordered a burger for him that nobody else had or tried. Nobody else in our family of 7 but us 3 ate this desert, and in the previous hours that same day my son, along with his brother and myself had completely different meals.
Within 3 hours of leaving the restaurant he's had multiple counts of nausea/diahareah that are just subsiding a little more today on DAY 6. But now the bug is running it's course with me and his brother and my wife. The process of elimination is very clear, there was something tainted us three ate there, and for me it's been a very unfortunate experience that ruined a very good night out.
Now it's day 4, us three have had repeat nausea, followed by numerous incidents that make you wamy to stay in or near the bathroom, for a younger kid this is dangerous to expel that much body fluids that we've taken our boys to the doctor and one to the ER.
*This has continued to day 6, of which I would like to go into detail about the symptoms but they could your stomach over.
BTW-I made a call to this restaurant, nice voice on the opposite end but clearly lack of interest in addressing my issue, which included an Emergency Room stay for my youngest. The call even lasted seconds only.
In light of Chipotle's issues with tainted food and the impact to their revenue you would think there would be more of an expression of concern from other restauranteurs. This one to me was devoid of empathy when I made the call. When you eat someone else's food you put your trust into them, any dining establishment should be ready to express a little more remorse.
DAY 10, miserable but coming off the porcelain throne...
Read moreEdit on my original review last year of 4 stars. Based on the past 2 times in a month that we have dined there, horrible. 2 weeks ago, my order of a Rib eye with a salad and a sweet potato came out as Prime Rib, french fries and mashed potatoes. My husband and daughter both had the wrong order. Tonight, Mother's Day. Reservation for 7 p.m. Gianna was our waitress. Seemed pleasant but obviously didn't care about customers. Ignored most of them. I ordered a small house salad for an appetizer and it took 25 minutes. I ordered my go to meal, Rib Eye steak cooked rare. They want to charge 26 dollars for a 12oz, it should be decent. I received a Well Done Sirloin steak. I can tell the difference. I brought it to Gianna's attention after having to flag her down. She never checked on us once during the time there. She looked at me like I had 2 heads. No apology from her, no offer to fix my meal or make anything right. I told her to take the meal and take it off of the bill. She actually scoffed about it. I can deal with a messed up order but for the server to not offer to do anything...my family will not return. Outback, you should train your servers better. I honestly was expecting a manager to approch me because of the order and our waitress. Giving me a well done, chewy sirloin and not a rare Rib Eye, it's laughable. My family came at least 3 times a month, we...
