Although I'm from Delray, I've lived in various cities across the U.S. from time-to-time that have other Einstein Bros Bagels I’ve visited and I travel for work so I've also experienced the many stores in airports. Generally speaking, the service and staff at all stores is consistently horrible! But, this new store in Delray at Linton & Federal is by far the worst. I actually believe they have some recruitment process that seeks the worst staff possible. I totally agree with Chris Nanarello's review, and would add that it doesn't go far enough. Like the coffee that is sewage, the tea is as bad if not worst. This store has only been here 2+ months and the staff has turned over almost daily. "Unprofessional" doesn't even begin to properly describe the staff; they are completely useless. How do you consistently and continually hire the same incompetent individuals? I only go back because it has become comical to see how poorly they can continue to do their job day-after-day. Seriously, I've brought others there for the joke of it who didn't believe me. My order is never correct, and it is not that complicated. I simply request "no lettuce" on the Tasty Turkey, but it is always an adventure to see what I actually end up with. I may turn this into a daily blog, or at least a frequent post, of how bad my experience is each time. I actually witnessed a fight there a couple weeks ago where the police had to be called. I wouldn't encourage anyone to patronize this location, or any Einstein's for that matter, but if you are patient, know what to expect and have a good sense of humor... frequent this location just to see the train wreck that it is! I ordered a bagel sandwich which included two eggs and avocado. I had a $2 off coupon which was mailed to my home from Einstein Bagels a couple weeks ago. I presented the coupon to the employee and she replied to another employee behind the counter in her native language so I would not understand. This other person was responsible for making my order. I noticed she was removing part of the avocado and only gave me one egg instead of two. I paid full price for my avocado garden bagel sandwich minus $2 . I asked why they cut the avocado and egg in half. She yelled and shouted to me saying “if you use a coupon you only get one egg and less avocado. I asked her to show me where in the coupon this is written. She would not look at the coupon or let me review the info. I told her I was going to complain to her manager. Apparently they assumed I wanted 2. They didnt ask me and when I ordered I assumed oh they'll just give me one. So I didnt really care for the reaction after I paid and saw them talk about the egg. "She told me one." I'm not trying to rip anyone off.
In the past I just accepted I was paying for 2 and getting 2 - which I didnt realize until after paying and seeing my receipt. This has happened 4 times.
I know they're trying but it wouldn't hurt to just ask. I don't always get two. It depends on my budget even if it's a dollar difference.
