It seems like the owner and the staff do not respect people that actually have a service dog that is registered as a service animal and if it’s in training is allowed to be in every place a trained service dog can be as well. I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a discriminatory and unlawful experience I had at your establishment on 04/09/25. Upon arrival, I was denied entry by a member of your staff due to the presence of my service dog, who is fully trained to assist me with a disability related to PTSD.
The bouncer on duty incorrectly asserted that my dog was an “emotional support animal” and therefore not permitted. This is both inaccurate and legally problematic. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), service dogs trained to perform specific tasks for individuals with disabilities—including psychiatric service dogs—are fully protected and must be granted access to all public accommodations.
Furthermore, the staff member attempted to request personal medical information, which I am not legally required to disclose. It is sufficient under the ADA to confirm that the dog is a service animal and describe the tasks it is trained to perform. Any further inquiry into the nature of my disability or documentation is a violation of my rights.
Not only was this experience distressing and humiliating, but it also reflected a serious lack of training and awareness on the part of your staff regarding federal accessibility laws. I urge you to take immediate action to properly train all employees, particularly those in customer-facing roles, on ADA compliance and service animal regulations.
