Well, after living here in Southeast Florida for 7 months, I had feared that the only type of pizza one could find would be that of the New York style (which is still good).
Most Chicagoans know that the deep dish pizza Chicago is so famous/infamous for is eaten maybe twice a year, or when you have out of town visitors.
Most of us windy city types ate the thin crust pizza weekly (sometimes daily). This "Tavern Style" or "Party Cut", pizza is cut into squares, and easily shared amongst friends, family, or solo.
Windy City pizza brings me back to the south side of Chicago, which has a restaurant called Aurelio's (also has locations in Fort Myers). This pizza can be easily compared to them. It has a buttery crust and sweet sauce that is similar to the aforementioned. Met the owners, and they were very friendly. The pizza was excellent, and the salad was freshly prepared. We got sausage and pepperoni, and the sausage tasted and appeared to be homemade. They put it on raw and it cooks on the pizza, which is different than NY style. See my pic for an idea of how it comes out looking. In my opinion, this makes for a tastier sausage pizza. I think any open minded New Yorker would appreciate the differences, while still loving their own. We can all get along, folks.
I really hope the word gets out on this place. Not a lot of seating, so if they take off, they might need a larger dining room. I was referred to this place by Chicago Pete who really knows his stuff. This place and Villa Rose in Hollywood is where you go for neighborhood Chicago pizza. I will be back. Now, someone call me when they find a decent deep dish down here (I still gotta get my fix without having to go to Orlando).

First and foremost Eric the owner/manger takes great pride in the food he prepares. I heard him checking on the pizzas religiously during my time there. I even saw him toss one out that was not up to his standards. I think that says a lot about a small business owner when he has a certain standard and he’s not willing to sacrifice that for the sake of his reputation. I felt like I was watching a real life (The Bear). I mean he could get someone like me. I’ve never been in their before. I get one over cooked or under cooked pizza and that’s it my experience is ruined. The exact opposite happened for me.
The pizza was outstanding and the young girl that took care of us was extremely friendly and personable. I’m a little biased to Chicago style thin crust pizza personal, but if I’m going by the one bite rule for me being CHICAGO PUB STLYE BIASED ITS AN EASY 9.3 Stars. The undercarriage was spot on. No flop at all and the cheese to crust ratio was ideal. I’m leaving a overall rating of 5 stars for the overall experience. The person I was with said it was the best they ever had in Florida. Highly recommended and try an Old Style it’s definitely an experience to go along with the pizza. If he’s out of that a Goose 312 is a good substitute lol. He’s got all the Chicago classics to, Vienna Beef dogs, Italian Beef and complimentary Garlic Knots with a tasty...

Tucked between I-95 and all the bustle of downtown, this little spot is a gem. Parking is easy, seating is cozy (about 6–10 tables inside and out), and while they don’t take reservations, it’s worth the wait.
First things first—the garlic rolls are absolutely off the charts. They’re served complimentary, fresh, and packed with flavor. Next up, the wings. These aren’t just good; they won Best Wings in Florida—and once you try them, you’ll see why. Crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, they’re a must-order.
But the real reason to come here is the Chicago-style pizza. They serve both classic deep dish and thin-and-crispy, just like back in the Windy City. The deep dish is a beast (they told us it weighs 10–12 pounds!)—definitely a challenge if you think you can handle more than one slice. We went with the thin crust Chicago-style sausage with green peppers, and it was perfection. The sausage had great flavor, the balance of cheese and sauce was spot on, and best of all, the crust was crisp all the way through—not soggy in the middle like you sometimes find.
The atmosphere is fun and nostalgic, decorated with Chicago memorabilia that makes you feel like you’ve been transported straight to the Midwest. The staff is friendly, the service is attentive, and they’ve got beer and wine to go with your meal.
Whether you’re a Chicagoan at heart or just love great pizza, Windy City Pizza is a must-try in Delray. You won’t be...
