THIS IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT in Louisiana!!! We first visited this restaurant in 2017 and we are still a fan. They have the absolute BEST FOOD, great service and the food just tastes better and better every time. Our family has particular food allergies/medical issues and DUKE'S does not make us feel uncomfortable when ordering and asking their staff if they can cook and prepare our meals to suit those issues. THIS MAKES US LIFELONG FANS of DUKE'S!!!!!!!! Been there during lunch service and have seen they allowed a very sweet disabled lady in a wheelchair bring in her very well behaved assisted-therapy doggie and I JUST FIND THAT AMAZING bcs otherwise people with disabilities would not be able to dine in like everyone else. DISABLED FOLKS need to be able to live like everyone else whatever their normal is. I LOVE DUKE'S for doing this for her and others. Mr. DUKE, to you & to your hard working staff = THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU ALL DO!!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST of them!!!!! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!!
I've been away from LA for a while, and while it was certainly so nice to have some authentic Louisiana cuisine for the first time in way too long, I was less than impressed with the overall rating of my meal on my first visit (stuffed flounder), and flat disappointed in my meal on my second my visit there during my trip back home (crawfish bisque that time). The flounder wasn't necessarily bad, it was just overcooked and pretty dry, and could have had more overall flavor.
The crawfish bisque's overall flavor was excellent (I love spicy and it was definitely that), but to put it kindly, the actual crawdish did not taste .. fresh. At all. If you know crawfish, you know that one bad bite can ruin the whole meal, and I'd say about a.third of the tails in this dish were in that category. I'm staying very nearby while I'm here, so I WANT to like it, so much. But sadly, I probably won't be back. If you're going have the same price point as much better and more popular restaurants with similar offerings, you should provide comparable product.
All that being said, there's a great bar area perfect for drinks with friends after-work or even date night, and my server (Shay) on one visit was very attentive and friendly. There's also a fairly nice outdoor...
Read moreThe food was great but the messed up Part was when we left a $10 tip for the waiter. The service wasn't even that great but I know they don't get paid a lot. I wont ever be that nice again. They went into the ticket and added an additional $108 to the ticket for a tip. The original Amount was $108 with tip. My husbands card was charged $216.00 I called Duke's and they said he has to wait until tomorrow I Asked why he said cause the lady isn't at work today. I said well you are a manager why can't you void the transaction and it will go right back to the card and draft what is owed I told him I work in finance i know how it works he said I know I do them all the time I said but you just told me you couldnt do it he said i never said that I said you just said you know how to do it. So he proceeds to say he not gonna argue with me I said about our money he said we had to wait 3-5 business days. I told him they didn't have to wait 3-5 business days to get their money. I asked Marvin who imputed the tip he said they waited so so asked hi lm to tell his waiter to have my money because at this point it's theft. He proceeded to hold the phone and not say anything. So I'm writing this review for poor customer service. Marvin the Manager needs to go back...
