I want to start by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to Dante and his incredible team. Their hospitality and customer service truly surpassed anything I've experienced, even after dining in various places across the U.S. and abroad.
Now, let’s talk about the food—it was hands down the best barbecue I've ever had. When Dante discovered it was my birthday, he surprised me with three Mexican Twinkies and some tortillas with consomé. They were absolutely delicious, easily the best barbecue Twinkies I've had, leaving the competition far behind. The flavors of the brisket, with its jalapeño and smoked bacon, combined with the glazed barbecue and seasoned cream cheese, were simply outstanding.
Our group was quite large, but Dante and his crew ensured we felt special and well taken care of. We sampled nearly the entire menu! The jalapeño smoked sausage was irresistible, and the brisket—oh, that bark! It was so tender that it fell apart in my hands. The bite-sized tacos were perfect, not soggy at all, just as they should be. We tried every side dish, and they were all fantastic. I usually don’t like street corn because I’m not fond of mayonnaise, but this was so well-mixed that I really enjoyed it.
Among everything we tried, including the desserts, the two full-sized Mexican Twinkies stood out as something truly special. I can't forget to mention the barbecue sauce. They offer a mustard Carolina-style sauce, which I usually don’t prefer, but I couldn’t stop eating it—I was even using a spoon!
I’m thrilled that the 903 area finally has such exceptional barbecue.
Thank you, Wheeler’s Barbecue, and a huge shoutout to Dante and the entire staff. You’ve got a hidden gem here, and I know it’s destined for greatness! Please don’t forget me...
Read moreCan’t wait to go back! I was excited to try this place after my coworker recommended it. We ordered two meat plate with brisket and jalapeno cheddar sausage with macaroni cheese and street corn, quesabirria taco, Mexican Twinkie (not listed on the menu yet) and black berry cobbler.
First of all…look at the bark on that brisket!!! It was AMAZING! Juicy, flavorful, tender. Perfect. Jalapeno cheddar sausage was so perfectly cheesy, spicy and juicy. The Mac and cheese was so creamy. The street corn was yummy. The quesabirria taco was my favorite. So good I went and ordered another one! The Mexican Twinkie. OMG. Just an absolute explosion of flavors in each bite. The creaminess of the inside combined with the crunch of the bacon on the outside. Everyone needs to try the Mexican Twinkie!
The blackberry cobbler is just incredible. We were absolutely giddy with joy over how delicious it was. Simply put, it’s the best cobbler I’ve ever had.
Service was excellent. Every thing was clean. The atmosphere was welcoming, well organized and nicely decorated. Music wasn’t too loud. Our food arrived quickly. Location is easily accessible. There’s a good variety of table sizes to accommodate smaller groups and larger groups.
Everyone please go check this...
Read moreI don’t normally leave reviews but oh boy this place deserves it. I have such a hard time trying to places but I’m so glad I gave this place a try. I got the brisket and ribs with two sides (Mac n cheese and Mexican street corn)
Absolutely no complains, the meat on both the ribs and brisket was delicious. The meat from the ribs basically melts off the bone. Mac n cheese creamy and tasty. Now let me tell you about the street corn. Every time I go to a restaurant that has Mexican street corn as a side I think twice before I order it because they always add random stuff to like cilantro, red onions tomatoes etc. As a Mexican lady that loves her street corn I had a ratatouille moment when I tasted the very authentic recipe. I really hope they keep it that way because I will be back for more.
Let me add that the staff comes to check on you every few minutes which is greatly appreciated.
I will be back for more and will definitely tell people...
