Poor service, high prices, gross food. There were 4 tables taken when we came in, one of which the guy ended up storming out while yelling about the terrible food. That should’ve been our que to leave. It took them 10 minutes at least to get our drink order, then 15 minutes after the drinks finally arrived (which were all watered down)they finally took our dinner order. This was at 4:30, so by no means were they busy. The servers all acted impatient and as if they hate their job. The menu prices are so high, it’s an insult. The lunch prices were about what most places charge for dinner. And sides are an add on for most meals. We got the chips and salsa as an appetizer and couldn’t eat it. Salsa isn’t supposed to be tomatoes and sugar thrown into a blender, but that’s what it tastes like. It took 45 minutes for us to get our food! What the heck? This place was so dead, all the conversations heard came from the kitchen. Burgers had no condiments with it or offered, had to ask. The chicken fettuccine for kids had a massive chicken breast on top. It’s for a small child, common sense says they should’ve cut it up like most restaurants. My country fried steak wasn’t bad, but the “mashed garlic potatoes” looked and tasted like they took a baked potato and smashed it, and covered it with gravy. Seriously, I could see the fork marks on the potatoes. I’m all for lumpy potato’s, in fact I prefer it. But normally you blend it a bit with cream and butter to make it softer and less dry. I had to basically mash my own at the table. Oh and the cutlery was dirty with dried old food. I used to work here like 15 yrs ago when it was called Rig One Grill and the food and service was amazing. What the heck happened guys? New owner doesn’t care? Can’t find good management or a decent cook? I feel really bad leaving such a poor review because I used to love this place so much. But the service and food today warranted this.

Great staff, great waitress. Food was decent, good fried okra. Three issues with this place. First, I got the vibe this place sold some type of barbecue dish, but it really didn't. Which was part of the reason we stopped there. Second was the menu. For one, the menus didn't have have the prices. I didn't understand what that was about. We ordered simple, specifically for that reason. Otherwise, I would've got a steak or something. They also need to expand the items on the menu a little. The third was that they need to define the theme of this place. It starts out as oil field themed (the sign outside is on a mock derrick and there's a pump when you walk in), but then it has stuffed animals like a safari theme (think gazelles and a leopard, pictures of waterbuffalo)? I don't have an issue with the animals, it would've just made more sense if they had animals that were from Texas or nearby OK, like whitetail deer or armadillos, maybe rattlesnakes? Anyway that's a nitpicking thing. Otherwise, good place to eat if you getting off the highway.

Iconic oilfield symbols; a pump jack inside and outside a derrick supports the restaurant’s sign. Scenes of the oil boom days cover the walls. In between the oilfield murals, taxidermy mounts of African big game in their final eternal pose. Some look startled as if looking for the origin of the gunfire they never heard. A leopard pauses in mid step, slinking down from its lair. Remnants of the days when oil money was flowing, even gushing like an uncontrolled well. A plate of bacon wrapped jalapenos along with an iced Shiner keep you occupied, while the Texas T-Bone you ordered is being prepared to a perfect medium rare. A hot blond sipping a martini on the patio improves the view. They could have filmed a scene of Paramount’s Landman here…. I had Fridays Special, “Fish and Chips” and a diet Coke. The fish was a little greasy, the service was good.

Food was good, pork chops perfectly done, baked potato was large and filled well. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. Everyone really liked the food they got!

EDIT: 09/04/2022

Went with a large group after Church ( 14 ). Food was awesome as usual, what wasn't awesome was the wait. Our server could have mentioned that the kitchen was swamped and that our food might take longer than normal, But he didn't. Manager assumed we knew they were busy, he also claimed that every restaurant in town would have the same wait. Now I have eaten here on average twice a month for the last year, most times in a 10+ group, this is the 2nd time that service was this slow and the 2nd time I have spoken to the same manager about this issue. Just keep your customers in the loop, we understand and just need to hear the words. Just so you know I always express any concerns after paying my bill so everyone knows I'm not wanting free stuff. So just get wait staff to keep your customers in the loop, also this is the 1st time we have had a built in tip. So basically our waiter stiffed himself because I tip more than 20%. Update 06/01/2025 Called ahead for a group of 9 at 11:54am Arrived at restaurant @ 11:58

Hostess told me our group could not be seated in the side dining room because they were short staffed, no one was in that room.

Was seated @ 12:16 Noticed that a group was magically seated in the side dining room and that wait staff was taking their order. 12:32 our drink order was taken. 12:42 food order taken 01:10 asked manager about our food and was told that they just got the order 4 minutes ago. 01:16 our entire group walked out, no food, no good reason for the horrible treatment. The table in the side room already had food and every table that came in after us had already gotten their food. Poor management, poor service and lack of attention. Also, I noticed the person plating food in the back had no hair covering, no gloves, and kept touching her face while handling everyone's food. Sunday is a busy day, lots of groups some are large. The place should be staffed properly for the business and management should be walking the dining room making sure everything is moving along smoothly. 1 star is all you get, should...

I wanted to give a shout-out to the awesome server who saved dinner tonight! The name on my receipt is Renee. I hope that's her and not just whoever signed on the bar/patio for the evening. Out of all of the other people who just ran me down the line after walking in, she was the only one who actually helped me place my to-go order. Would you guys PLEASE get your phones fixed!! I tried calling in my order, but was hung up on twice. After walking in to place the order, I was made aware of the phone issue, and directed to the bar. It was busy for a Thurs night! The bartenders were all hopping, so I waited behind the line of seated bar patrons. But neither of them noticed, and none of the servers gathered at the end of the bar seemed to notice. Some random dude from that end walked up to ask me what I wanted but seemed completely uninterested when I answered that I wanted to make a to-go order. A manager? A bar patron? I've no idea. FINALLY, a server noticed me (Renee?) She began to direct me to the bartenders, but then said, "You know what? Let me get take down what you want and I'll get it to them." I was so grateful! Finally, someone willing to take my dinner order! I understand North Rig is a dine-in restaurant, not a fast food joint, but there really should be a better way to handle walk-in to-go orders, especially when your phones don't work!! End of a long tale: food was great and Renee (if that was indeed you, you saint),...
