Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Denton

Jersey Mikes had been my safety net when it came to a sandwich shop that I can trust to be sanitary and fresh, but man was I disappointed this time. As someone who had worked in food service for years I know how coolers work, and usually there is a "fill line" on the pans so that the contents stay within the temperature safety zone. I am not exaggerating when I say the tomatoes were stacked half a foot high above the top of the pan, and it was evident that they were in bad condition with how dark and soft they looked. The lettuce was also visibly wilted with pink coloring. It seems like there's at least 5 people on staff and not busy, so such a lazy measure of stacking the tomatoes like this is unnecessary. The staff needs to be retrained on proper glove use and hand washing. Staff were using the register while also texting on their phone with gloves on. Also when they thought they were out of sight they were vaping with gloves on in the back. I hope they've never dropped their vape or phone on the floor or used them in the bathroom because watching them handle these devices with gloved hands is disturbing. Also after doing all of this, they would change gloves without washing hands. Makes me pretty sad it seems you can't trust anywhere these days, hopefully it's just this location that has slacked and not every Jersey Mike's. I will not return to this location in the...

You can’t beat Jersey Mike’s when it comes to subs. I am so tired of Subway, although I do get it once in a while. That being said, I am a JM fan! The bread is always fresh, the meat is plentiful and if you get it Mike’s Way… forget about it!!! It’s amazing. Then I top it off with the cherry relish. I can’t eat their sandwiches without it now. :) They make it exactly the way you want it.

I also like being part of the points club with the app. Many times they offer double points too.

My go to is the Italian sub, #13.

I really hate leaving a review like this, but I've sent emails and haven't heard anything back. So, I feel like this is the only way to get some sort of accountability.

On 7-31 I ordered a cheesesteak, took it home, got about 3/4ths through it and then found what appears to be sharp wooden shards from a toothpick (?) In the sandwhich. Its really so disappointing. I love Jersey Mike's, but I cant believe how dangerous this experience was. I could've easily cut or splintered my mouth on these shards. Im not sure how a toothpick or whatever this is even ends up on a grill or the ingridents used to make...
