[5/16/2022][$12] My awful beef dish was served on a broken plate. How lazy and cheap does the restaurant has to be to serve food like that. This restaurant probably cuts a lot of corners. My dish had that off putting bland frozen flavor in beef and vegetable ingredients. It had zero Thai flavor or any flavor. This food was below Chinese buffet or cheap hole-in-the-wall Chinese joint level. It is as if something bad is happening at the kitchen. I didn’t and couldn’t finish my food. What a disappointment and embarrassment. How can they serve Thai food like that? No wonder I saw no Asians in this restaurant. My companion who brought us here told me that his previous experience was decent but not on this day. His food wasn’t good either. The previous reviewers gave glowing review like they never had better Thai food before this one. I must came here on its worst day. This restaurant has 100 items on its menu. This is down right bad sign. Don’t even go to a restaurant of this size that has 100 items on its menu. It is a bad sign. How can they keep all that inventory without them going bad or taste very frozen. Just awful. Just don’t.

Definitely check this place out if you’re in Denton it’s a great hole in the wall Thai food place. Food was delicious and savory all the spices and flavors came together nicely. It was understaffed during the rush time when my friend and I sat down to eat, it is a small business so it’s understandable. It was a bit of a wait since there was really only one server taking care of everyone, I recommend going when they’re not too busy. Staff was very accommodating, I was given the wrong order and they immediately took it back to the kitchen to be fixed. Had the Panang Curry it was delicious, pretty big portions too! Atmosphere is really nice, they have two tvs there as well so that you can enjoy food and a show. Had a great time tonight thanks for serving us Thai Ocha definitely will be back for more! 😋 Also parking can get a little crazy when it’s busy it’s a small lot, drive safe when you turn in at rush hour.

This little Thai Restaurant is one of Denton's best kept secrets! My sister recommend dining here after a long day of shopping. We both love good Thai food and wanted to experience some really bold favorites during our dining experience. Oh my, we were not disappointed! The attention to details were obvious. We shared a crispy Shrimp Appetizer with a sweet and sour dipping sauce that was delicious and cooked to perfection! Next we each ordered the Red Spicy Chicken Curry with steamed rice because we are both huge fans of this dish. "Hats off" to the chef for the wonderful meal and great experience! The simple dining room is also staffed with incredible friendly personnel who will definitely help guide you through the menu. I highly recommend dining here whether looking for good Thai food or just a great meal!

We went here a couple of months ago and had a really good experience at Thai Ocha. The food was really good, we had quite a few orders of vegan curries, and the curries were delicious. Fast forward a few months, we went there again this weekend because we just loved the vegan curries so much when we were here the last time. It seemed as if the staff has been completely changed from last time and the chefs might have changed too since the food we ordered tasted a lot different from last time. We ordered vegan curries and to our surprise they told us that they couldn’t make curries vegan. We went here only to have the curries since they were so good the last time we were here; so we had to reorder and we then ordered some of the most basic thai dishes like vegan basil fried rice and vegan drunken noodles. When we received our food, the vegan basil friend rice had egg in it so we told the server and they apologized for it and willingly replaced it and told us that the owner will prepare our food now. We were really excited hearing that and we finally had the corrected dishes in some time. To our surprise, the basil fried rice that we ate here was not at all good. It had no fragrance of basil and no seasoning at all. We had to ask for salt and some sauces to add some flavors to it. We ordered 2 basil fried rices and both were just the same- tasteless. Never had this kind of a basil friend rice anywhere else. Coming to the order of drunken noodles, that was extremely sweet. The flavors were not at all balanced. We mentioned this to the server and they then provided us a discount on our bill to compensate for our unsatisfactory visit. But I am really skeptical that we would be visiting this place again. Our first visit here was definitely 5 stars but our most recent visit was 2 stars, I don’t think they now have the expertise with...

I just moved to Denton about a month ago and have been excited to try the new places nearby when we take a night off from cooking. Thai Ocha was one of the places I had been most looking forward to trying based on the reviews online. Friday night felt like and "order out" kind of night, so I ordered online for pickup. The order process was easy and I was given a pickup time of 30 minutes from order time. I was already really hungry when I arrived 5 minutes before my scheduled pickup time only to be told that "it's gonna be awhile." The place was nearly full inside and there were (no joke) 6 other people waiting to pick up their orders. After waiting another 15 minutes (45 mins total from order time), I asked about how much longer it would be and was told "about 20 minutes." I asked for a refund. After the cashier went to talk to the manager about this, he returned to say, "your order was moved up and we can get it in 10 minutes." I decided to wait. I should not have. People were very angry and visibly frustrated at the wait. I don't know what was happening in the kitchen, but when I got home, my order was missing the extra sauce that I ordered (and paid for), the food was fairly bland, and my girlfriend's Thai fried rice tasted like it had not been fully cooked. The flavors had real potential - and maybe this place is fine on a slow night, but I won't be going back. If you can't manage a kitchen and be honest with people (and stop taking new orders) when you're backed up, you have no business running a restaurant. In the end, my food was ready over an hour after I placed my order, the order was incomplete, and the food...

I would like to tell this story and you can decide yourselves to go to Thai Ocha or not to go. I arrive at 1pm and start wondering about 130pm why my "to go" order has not been completed. I ask them about my order and they stated earlier another person picked up my to go order with his and that he didn't even pay and walked out. On top of that I tried to purchase egg rolls with my order and they said they were sold out. Upon seeing almost everyones order come out with an egg roll I asked if those were different from the egg rolls I was trying to order, they said no they are the same. I asked if I could add one to my order and they declined saying they were running low on them and would only be giving them out with the lunch special. About 40 minutes after placing my order I checked on it again and they said two more minutes and brought out someone else's order and tried to give it to me. I said that is not my name on the order and asked for a refund being I could not wait any longer and needed to return to work. While the refund was about to start they found another order in the back that turned out to be mine. Not the one they had the cooks rush but just an order with my name on it in the back. Not sure what to think of the hour long "to go" experience other than an extremely unorganized and frustrating. Also When I asked for some sweet and sour sauce for my order they were out as well, had to visit another restaurant...
