UPDATE 01/15/2017
After the disastrous New Year's Eve experience we decided to give this location another chance. We had the exact same waitress as last time, her name is Jojo. Same disinterest in her customers as last time. She sat in a back both with friends & the other waitresses almost the entire visit including as my drink sat empty for 10 minutes before she noticed & refilled it. The only thing that made me up them one star to be at 3 stars was the cook Don. He made it a great experience. He was friendly & outgoing & made sure our meal was prepared perfect & precisely as ordered & checked to make sure it was great. On top of cooking for all the patrons he was the only one cleaning as well. At one point a waitress had to tell the others that they needed dishes. While the food was much better this go around the lack of service is truly pathetic. I have attached a picture of the staff sitting in the back booth gossiping.
I have eaten at this location numerous times in the past. This time was by far the worst. I expected it to be busy since it was New Year's Eve however it was not. They were prepared for it as they had at least 10 employees working, but this did little to help the service. The only one that was helpful was the Asian guy, not being racist but since his name tag said "big papa" I figured this is the only one to differentiate him from the rest. He filled up our drinks after noticing they had sat empty for 20 minutes. I ordered the chili which I order at least once a week at locations all across N. Texas but this chili had a weird metallic after taste. I told them that I would pay for it but they shouldn't serve it to someone else cause something was wrong. They did try to take it off my bill & I explained it was not about not paying for it, I just didn't want someone else to get it & complain. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI moved from Arlington to Decatur and was craving my favorite breakfast place until I found this poor excuse for a bussiness. So I place my order for 2 people which had a couple of subsitues and please put on the side. 1 request was for double egg white due to a health condition. So the tall young woman has a couple of questions I reply and off our order goes to be prepared. I ask how long would it be and dodge out to my vehicle to sit. After plenty of time I return inside to notice 1 big bag leaning over just sitting there. After the line has been cleared the same lady says here you go. I quickly bring to her attention that the bag is leaning which anyone with some concern could have seen this. I ask for another bag to fix the issue which was caused by another caring worker putting half of the ketchup stock in our bag along with other condiments then placing our food on top ignoring the leaning of the containers as they stacked all 5 on top of each other. One of the in-house guest and myself had to just shake our heads at the stupidity. I pay for my order and drive home only to be shocked at our entire meals that was cooked and prepared in everyday but the way we requested it. I recall seeing a short guy who was cooking and the reason he caught my attention is because he continuously had grabbed his cap over 5 times touching his hair and I never saw him wash his hands or you any antibiotics spray or lotion. I live a few from that place so I decided to call and have a discussion with the manager. Not gonna happen because they have the most lame answering machine on 24 and 7. It was about 11 pm when I checked out and I have called the phone number and the same thing happens a answering machine. This is about 1 poor excuse for a store if I have ever seen. Ā Ā Ā Read moreI only gave one star because because -āļøās arenāt an option. This morning was the 1st time Iāve been to this location since they reopened after the remodel. Remodel looks nice, no more seating but definitely opened up the kitchen area. Now, the reason for my bad review. I walked in (just me), there was a party of 2 waiting and another party of 2 came in right behind me. None of us were greeted, not even eye contact, no acknowledgment of ANY kind! In just a few mins 3 tables and a seat at the counter became available. 1st party sat down and once one of the other booths was cleaned, the other couple sat down. I was waiting for the seat at the counter to be cleaned instead of taking a big booth for just me. After a few mins of standing & waiting & watching several waitresses walk past the dirty counter seat a waitress finally started to clean it as slow as she possibly could. She finally made eye contact with me and I told her I would sit there after it was cleaned. She said āyou want to sit hereā? I said āunless you want me to take up a whole booth just for meā! She looked over at the booth and shrugged her shoulders, I said āyou know what, Iāll just go somewhere else because apparently itās too much troubleā. I drove about a mile down the road to the Egg House Cafe. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, was seated immediately, and my waitress (Hailey) came over, introduced herself and apologized for the wait (May have only been 2 mins until she got to me), gave me great service, great food as always!
