I have honestly never posted a negative review in my life, but after visiting American Bonded last night, my girlfriends and I were left extremely confused and offended. After ordering drinks, my girlfriends and I sat at the bar chatting with one another. A little later, an employee came over and told us we needed to go immediately. We were so caught off guard and thought he was joking. After realizing he was serious, we asked why and he said he could not tell us, but we had offended an employee. We were legitimately confused and repeatedly asked for clarification. Finally, another bar tender said he didn’t really know, but we supposedly said something offensive about men of color. We were so confused as there was absolutely nothing offensive we could think of. As a culturally responsive educator and with a group of ethnically diverse women who date all kinds of men, we would never ever intentionally say something offensive about anyone. It was obviously a misunderstanding and something was misheard as there was loud music playing. If this establishment is truly committed to racial justice, they should have had an open and mature conversation with us explaining the alleged offensive comments, rather than assuming racism and kicking out respectful paying customers without any explanation. These accusations were offensive, upsetting and most of all, false. We are disappointed and will not be returning. We hope this review can be shared with your staff and used as a learning opportunity for how to better handle a...
Read moreI never typically leave bad reviews or feel the need to complain about service but have literally never been treated so poorly in a restaurant/bar so here we are. Our group was sitting outside at a table, having fun, acting appropriately. I went in to the bar to get some waters where I was told by the bartender/ manager “Hank” that our entire group was cut off and couldn’t be served anymore. Everyone at this point had probably ordered 2-3 drinks max. They had no reason other than deciding we were all too drunk which made absolutely no sense. Nobody was slurring, stumbling, falling asleep etc… everyone was just sitting at the table talking and having a good time. We were met with hostility when trying to reason with the manager and even had to point out to him a group next to us who had flipped the table over he was completely ignoring while so concerned with calling us all too drunk. It was genuinely confusing and very strange but overall just disappointing because I really liked this bar! Unfortunately will not be coming back based on the principle of how the bartender/manager treats the patrons at the...
Read moreThe second star is solely based on the fact that drinks were very good. At least the bartenders can mix drinks well, but they don’t know how to treat the customers. First sat at a table and sat for 5 min without receiving any type of greeting from the two behind the bar. Upon realizing we must have to go up there we waited another 5 min while watching the bartenders laugh it up at the end of the bar to be greeted. Then all we got was a what do you want and a shrug of shoulders when we asked about drinks. Had to stop them to order another one after our drinks were empty on the bar. Then when we wanted to pay we asked to split the bill and the bartender wouldn’t even look at us. No words exchanged the entire time we sat at the bar. I’m not one to usually say anything but I was shocked that someone could be so rude and still work in the industry. I’m not sure if it’s a place where only “regulars” are welcome, but if you like an warm inviting atmosphere that actually sells food at 8pm then check out work and class. They live up...
