This review could have been a little less severe if it wasn't for the blatant excuses of the manager.

My husband and I came in this afternoon to try some pizza we thought would be pretty good. But seeing it was an open kitchen, we were appalled to see the health standards this kitchen has.

First of all, management would like to argue they were doing a "taste testing" and talked town to me as if I didn't understand what the food industry is like. Having had many years in very high end food industry careers, I know what the food industry is like, BUDDY.

So yes, I'll address this "taste testing". We noticed the staff was surrounding the chef as he was demonstrating how something was cooked and had everyone take a taste. Cool. I was a little thrown off they were eating right there in the kitchen and not on break. BUT THEN. Just so I don't got off on a tangent:

Staff were all sharing a smoothie and bowl of pasta directly behind prep counter

Staff used sterile prep gloves to handle orders at an iPad and interactions with customers and then turned around to prep food with the same gloves

Staff not wearing gloves didn't wash hands after handing cell phones and eating

Staff were on their cell phones texting and talking on the phone while handling food

Manger talked down to me as if I had some high, unrealistic expectation of dining when I told him the situation

Manager did not give a valid return receipt for our food.

Pretty disappointed. I paid 20 bucks to get the prosciutto and oyster mushroom, only to find out the toppings were actually ham and portobello slices. Now, the pizza didn't suck.. but it was loaded with ingredients not listed on the menu, and was very soggy. There were 3 pizza rolls for 11. Didn't see the price when I ordered them, thinking as an app they would be reasonably priced like 5-7 dollars. When I got to taking a bite, they were burnt, hollow dough tubes. I had the Margherita rolls, there was one leaf of basil in each and I couldn't really taste any sauce. For the price I paid I am incredibly disappointed, especially with the incorrect and misleading menu. Unless you want a soggy overpriced not what you ordered pizza, come check this place out. I have been here a few times, to give them a chance. The manager and most of the staff are rude and do not offer good customer service. If you have a question, expect to be dismissed or answered rudely. On last visit The pizza was burnt on the bottom more that expected with a wood-fired oven and dry, there was not enough sauce. When we asked for a little sauce they said they would have to charge us!! This pizza is not inexpensive, and to charge for sauce we should have received is unreasonable.
