Last two times have both been 45+ min waits from their promised pickup, despite ordering literally hours earlier. Tons of unhappy people standing around for close to an hour.
Food’s ok but definitely not worth it. Horrible management.
Never again.
Edit to owner: I don't see a way to reply other than editing review. What I'd like: Accurate pickup times. I'm fine if the food is going to take 90 minutes because I can just order earlier or decide not to. Just don't make me stand around for 50 minutes because you can't have a single worker log into your online ordering system to update the delay. Have staff tracking how long orders are actually taking so they can give estimates. They told me it would only be 20 minutes and it was over 50. It seemed clear they had no idea. Prioritize scheduled orders and factor in delay. I ordered 3-4 hours before pickup because I needed it by a certain time (baby's bedtime). Clearly the order wasn't started any faster than the people that ordered right before 6pm, so what's the point of ordering ahead? Have staff ready to give some kind of refund or gift card for 45m+ waits. Having underpaid workers try to sound contrite and apologize is bare minimum, but imho any serious apology from the business/management itself needs to be monetary.

Read moreOur group shared a selection of sliders and sides. Their sliders have quality meat and a delightful coleslaw that compliments the chicken well. The veggies were incredible with a garlic seasoning, the mashed potatoes (and gravy) were wonderfully worth ordering, and the chicken noodle soup was eccentrically different (plus the broth tasted like a beef stew so it was a strange combination of flavors, but also not a bad mix). If you like a dull heat, I recommend dipping your slider into their incredible hot sauce as it subtly enhances an already excellent recipe!
That said, the mac n cheese was appalling and flavorless - I urge anyone who’s ordering from Chook to avoid eating that bland, pale pasta. I truly don’t know what it was (it was nothing similar to mac n cheese, that’s for sure), but it would be a waste of money to include this dish in your meal. All in all, it was a fun experience to try a small range of what this modern restaurant...
Read moreOrdered takeout for lunch, service and timeliness was great, but I have some major criticisms of the “Chicken” Chook Caesar. First, the salad itself does not come with chicken and has to be added on, and while this is my fault for not seeing the chicken add-on option, I find it very odd for a chicken restaurant to not have the chicken as a main ingredient. Also for the price of the salad ($14 for bigger) without chicken, it is DEFINITELY not worth it. It’s basically a regular sized bowl, not large (to me at least) with romaine not filled to the brim, a few croutons, a little Parmesan, and two side cups of dressing. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken BLAT for $13 and it is far more reasonable than what I ordered, as it has a good amount of chicken, avocado, lettuce and tomato, sauce, and nice bread. So my advice is to order a sandwich and steer away from the salads if you’re looking to get a bang...
