Iām not one to write reviews on food, but after taking my first sip and grinning from ear to ear, I had to. As an ex-barista, coffee connoisseur, and working in healthcare, Iām picky with my coffee beverages, but most especially the espresso. Iām usually an iced black americano kind of gal, but after a run today, I needed a bit more than that. As I try to expand my coffee palate, Iām always looking for new coffee places to try, and elated to have stumbled upon Copper Door. I got an Iced Hazelnut Almond milk latte. Visually the coffee was pleasing to the eye. I could already tell my espresso was going to be smooth based off the colour and how it layered atop my milk. I take my sip, and instantly regretted not ordering a large size. I was literally smiling. The espresso was smooth and bold as I suspected, and not bitter or burnt. To top it off their syrups are house made! This hazelnut paired perfectly with whatever almond milk they use; it was the flavour my taste buds craved. They are a bit pricey, and with tip I paid $7, again I got alternative milk and house made syrup both .75 cents (which is actually cheap compared to most) Upon entering I did notice only one barista with a staff crew wall of about 4 or 5, and normally, coffee places staff 3-5 at a time in the AM with overwhelming staff bodies. Itās about 7am right now. But my barista took his time and made mine and everyone elseās coffee with patience and most likely love lol. He also greeted everyone walking in and out! Most people donāt understand coffee is a different form of art in the food industry. To get good coffee, you shouldnāt be rushed nor rush anyone else otherwise you get mediocre coffee, if that. This place reflects outstanding coffee and staff! I will definitely be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy previous review would have been 5 stars in every category. Their coffee is amazing, and the staff has always been courteous and kind. That was until today. The person working today had a chip on their shoulder even before I ordered. I started to order and then asked my daughter which syrup she wanted and the person ignored me and interrupted and told me to let my daughter order. I said my other daughter has previously forgotten to order coffee forgetting to get almond milk so I was just reminding her. Remember where I said I was ordering? Oh, and I had the money? I ordered our coffee and after it was given to us the person rudely told me I did not respect their gender. They then pointed to their clothes as if that was supposed to be obvious. Lots of people have piercings and wear jeans and a Tshirt. If it means so much to someone, they should have a pin or name tag to let people know their preferences. I have no intention of harming anyone, but I left the coffee shop feeling harmed myself. I don't think I ever even used pronouns at all, but I could easily be wrong. I was extremely nice and over apologized but this person just outright assumes you are doing it out of spite and is rude the entire time. For all the positive experiences I have had here in the past, I won't be coming back. Your staff have every right to be who they are (as do all of us) but regardless of differences, everyone deserves respect - especially if you are working...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery hard to find when you're inside the gardens. No signs anywhere. There is an outside entrance on York, but parking is difficult. I got a breakfast burrito and it was good of what I could eat. They heated in the packaging it came in from an outside vender. It was difficult to eat that way , so I wrapped it in a napkin, but the napkin stuck to the burrito, so I had to throw most of it away. It would be better if the burrito on a plate or tray. The staff were very loud and the acoustics made that worse. Chargers for your laptop are limited. There is outdoor seating, but I don't know if there are 110 AC outlets out there.
Only food is burritos or breads.
I only drank water, as I'm not a coffee drinker.
As mentioned by others, plants were very interesting down the center of one table, and other areas. A Garden's volunteer told me the shop was mostly for locals due to parking shortage and such.
Didn't have to wait and staff were very nice .
Nice setting.
I went there because there was a long line at the Garden's...
