good dog park, smaller than most dog parks but big enough for every dog to get a good run going and stretch there legs properly.
Edited on 9/12 I changed my review from 5 stars to 1 because of the owners, not the dogs. Dogs are like kids, sometimes they dont know how to play and sometimes they shit in a corner and its up to there parents to make sure it gets picked up. First, my dog is a puppy who sometimes doesnt know how to play but dogs here get way too rough and other owners just sit on their phone and dont even look up at their dogs. It is quite shocking that a dog could bark for 20 minutes straight and the own wont look up from their phone. Second, this park has more shit laying around in the sand/pebble base then any other dog park ive ever been to. I am an avid visitor of the stapleton dog park which is probably at least 5 times the size of this dog park and it has zero poop lying around. However, this tiny tiny dog park has soooo much poop. Everytime i go to the dog park i walk around and typically pick up 30 patches of poop. It is distressing that people basically bring their dogs to the park to let them burn off energy because they dont want to deal with it. Leo also got bit at this park but fortunately the owner was paying attention and we managed to pull the other dog away from leo. Leos foot was in the mouth of the other dog and had been scratched very badly to the point of blood. I couldn't recommend this dog park less. Owners are bad and its not big enough for dogs to have space for them to do something alone. Also dont bring your own toys to the communal dog park and not expect another dog to take it away. Some dogs react different to certain things so dont bring trigger objects like food or toys...
Read moreI haven’t been to many dog parks in my life but this one seems to meet all of our requirements. The city of Denver regularly has it’s workers come by to pick up the litter and empty the trash cans so they’re never overflowing. It’s never too packed but there’s always at least a few dogs running around. It’s a great place for my GSD to socialize whilst not being overwhelmed with an over abundance of dogs like other parks. I mainly like the Carla Madison Dog Park because it’s close to our house and it doesn’t have any size restrictions. I can’t believe that some dog parks have adopted policies that discriminate against certain size dogs. That just seems ridiculous to me, like how are all of the rat b@st@rd little dogs supposed to socialize if they aren’t introduced to a diverse group of their peers? Thankfully no such prejudice exists here at the Carla Madison Dog...
Read morePark is very small, filled entirely with sand. No grass or anything of the sort. Not enough space for more than maybe 3-4 dogs at a time. In the winter or rainy months it's a giant mud pit.
There is always poop left throughout the sand box, though there are bag stations and trash cans scattered around.
For whatever reason this is the only dog park that constantly results in my dog getting in the middle of dog fights. Not sure if it is the owners, the dogs, or the area itself. There's always at least one dog performing dominant behavior to the point of harassment. All other dog parks across multiple states all the way from Minnesota to Arizona she's never...
