Buyer beware- they put "dirty sauce" (mayonnaise) on everything automatically. Decided to try this new store because our usual option for sandwiches was closed. Came in with my family's order written down- ham and cheese with lettuce and pickle, Italian sub, etc. Navigated their bewildering and very long menu (tip:read the menu online before you go!), found the closest matches to what we wanted and stepped up to order. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the service for my take out order was fairly quick. Sadly, when I ordered their ham and cheddar sandwich with "lettuce and pickles only," that did not translate to "no mayo," because their standard is to put mayo, lettuce and tomato on every sandwich- I assume one has to specifically tell them not to include whichever of these toppings you don't want- except I never said "no tomatoes," and somehow they figured that part out. Shame on me for not knowing this rule- and I guess for not reading the fine print- all 4 of our sandwiches came with mayo on them, and only one of us was able to actually enjoy the meal. The kicker is that the 4 sandwiches, no chips, no drinks, plus tip came to over $60. Hard to swallow eating that cost. Overall, if I were able to ignore the mayo, I'd say the sandwiches themselves were slightly above average, nothing special, and definitely not worth the price. On the other hand, they were big sandwiches, plenty of food. My suggestion to the store: have your cashier ask each person if they want mayo, or "dirty sauce," if it must be...
Read moreExcited for a new place for unique sandwiches in the neighborhood. The craftsmanship and passion for making it a fun atmosphere is evident. Lots of creative names for sandwiches and a ton of topping combinations that you wouldn't find in other places. Fun place! I had to take a star off for one issue - the menu is wayyyyy too small on their wall. Concerningly small. I have almost perfect vision with my contact lenses in, and I had to get really close and squint to read their menu. There is a much larger (with less choices?) version of the menu on the wall when you walk in, and the paper menus at the register, but reading the large menu would be almost impossible halfway down the line. The #18 (their numerical system is pretty confusing/all over the place, although I'm sure there's a quirky reason behind it) - Matt Cain - was delicious. Perfect combination of ingredients and the sauce provided great balance on top of being really tasty. 5/5 Sandwich. The other reason this review is 3 stars is because I paid $22 for the sandwich and a small rice crispie treat - no additions, no drink and no chips. That's absolutely ridiculous. No sandwich is worth that $ amount. It was so expensive, I almost question if it was a mistake. I see there are various price points for each of their sandwiches, so I'll end up back trying a different one, but if it's around $20 again I'll just make it a rare treat instead of a...
Read moreMy husband and I shared the "Sometimes I'm Vegan" on Dutch Crunch bread. The wait was reasonable - about 5 min at approx 1130a on a Tuesday. The sandwich was delicious, however a little pricey at $13.
This sandwich shop is small but clean, with indoor & outdoor seating. It has a "fun" vibe and SO many sandwiches to choose from - over 40 meat sandwiches, over 20 vegetarian sandwiches and about a dozen vegan sandwiches(!)
There is room for improvement in customer service, though. No one greeted me at the counter. The lady who took my order barely said a word to me, did not smile and did not appear to be too happy.
Look - no employee deserves to lose their job over a silly review. Reviews should be used constructively, to retrain staff and to make improvements. Customer service employees need to understand that the impression they give reflects on the business's image. A simple, but friendly "hello" goes a LONG way - as does a smile 😊. Busy staff could easily acknowledge the customer with a "be right with you". The customer's "experience" matters. Friendly staff may be the reason a customer returns - despite high prices. Not everyone is naturally smiley and extroverted. Sometimes employees must extend themselves a bit & make a small...
