Metropolis Coffee — Restaurant in Denver

A cup of coffee at metropolis. Why I enjoy coffee? I love cafe culture. Especially those I found traveling around Europe. I love that the Revolution that made "the American" started in a coffee house. I love that intellectuals, artists, entrepreneurs and students gather in this caffeinated honey combs. With technology and the interweb creating more bouts of isolation than ever before, I recognize the desire of people to connect by visiting a cafe. Even if their screens hide them away, just being near one another over the smell of fresh brew is a medicine. So be bold! Talk and share with another!

I want to give a shout out to Tim- Metropolis' best barista: genuine, effective and interested to check out Modern Love by Aziz Ansari per my recommendation (just finished it the night before last). Try it... Reach out and speak and you will make a new friend.

Best latte I’ve had in Denver so far. There are plenty of small tables to do work and a couple nice places to sit and read or chat with a friend. If you’re going to read or relax, I recommend bringing noise canceling headphones. If you sit outside, there’s construction nearby and the seats are right next to a road; inside, the music is usually pretty loud.

EDIT: After a few baristas left, the quality of the lattes has dropped drastically. The music also seems to have increased in volume and is often not what I consider café friendly — think hard rock and pop. I can’t really fault baristas for playing what they like while they work, but I think at least it...

Sat in the drive through for over an hour today. The drive through is designed to where once you’re in you can’t get out. We missed church, our kid was losing it for sitting still too long in the car and our food/coffee was crap anyways. Takes almost 25 minutes per car in the line and that’s not including those who didn’t waste their time ordering and just left when it was their turn in line. Wish that’s what we had done. But we had hoped after the wait at least it would be decent but we were wrong. Will never recommend this place to anyone or ever be back again if I can help it. Would 100% give 0...
