This place is a rip off. I think the salon is just a money grab with subpar servicing.
My first experience at the salon was very pleasant. The techs were friendly and catering. However, I paid more for my full set, gel pedicure and glass of wine than I ever have before in my life ($165 inl tip) and I donāt get designs or anything. They also charge you ($7) wine, champagne, and other drinks. I thought the set was nice, but nothing to write home about.
The next time I went in, I called ahead to inquire about pricing for a fill ($45 and up) and gel polish change ($30). I scheduled a walk-in.
I had an awful experience with the nail tech. She cut my nails down but failed to recapture the shape of my nails. She blamed it on my fingers being wide, but I explained the last tech was able to shape them fine even with my nails being essentially shorter before. After casually speaking with someone else at the shop she tells me my nails will be $55 due to the āreshapingā.I looked disappointed and she asked me if that was okay and I told her it was not because she hadnāt actually captured the shape it had been. She then said if I didnāt like it I could āgo somewhere elseā. Verbatim. I was really shocked.
The troubling thing that stood out to me is that the tech failed to actually start the fill before reshaping my nails. She never applied any additional acrylic before she started shaping my previous cut down set. Iāve never seen this done before and I told her it may end up looking differently after she fills my nails, which is why I was initially hesitant about my satisfaction. However her attitude was unforgivable. She was also on a personal call the entire time she was working on my nails.
With the polish removed and my nails looking crazy, I asked her if she could just remove the acrylic. She said it would be $5 and I agreed. She began removing them but then another woman from the shop spoke to her and she said it would actually be $15. The whole situation was difficult to bear. I realized I was now being made to be the villain because I asked qualifying questions and expressed some disappointment with the service thus far.
I realized I didnāt have to accept someone treating me as less than. I told her I was no longer interested. She told me there was no charge. I left the shop.
To me, they went out of their way to make me feel unwelcome at the shop. Save your money, sis. There are other talented and welcoming techs and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm a middle-aged man who has never stepped foot in a nail salon before. I hate cutting my toenails and if I was rich, I imagine that I would pay someone to do it always! In recent years, I have also struggled with dry feet, so I thought I would try a pedicure. While I'm not rich, I do have some money, so I scheduled the basic pedicure, which is cheap enough that I thought I might do 2-4 times per year. Making an appointment was easy. I was able to find free (1 hour) street parking on Speer and it was a short walk to the City Nail Bar and Lash. I was greeted immediately and asked to have a seat in the waiting area. Within a few minutes, I was in a chair. Since it was my first time, I don't know if my expectations were realistic. However, I will not be going back. My nails were not cut short enough and very little was done to remove dead skin--lightly rubbing a textured/soapy sponge, but not paying attention to any specific areas like the heel. So it didn't check either of those boxes. Instead, entirely too much time was spent on moisturizing (??, lightly rubbing paste, not really a massage) my feet and lower legs, so maybe that's what people like? However, it also didn't make me feel pampered, so no silver lining there either. The salon owner/manager ran my card and selected no tip for me, which would be nice for some places, but this definitely seems like a job that should be tipped (regardless of my dissatisfaction), so fortunately I had some cash to hand the person who worked on me. I hope she was allowed to keep it! I may try a different salon, but I'm guessing that I just need to go to a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThough Han is one of the best techs in the world with design, their nail material is very cheap. They donāt last as long as other places Iāve gone to. My nails never last more than a week after I get them and I have to get them fixed so many times. And for the price it is NOT worth it. I pay on average (90-125$ for a set yes they over tax for EVERYTHING). Even after the ridiculous prices for some of the most basic sets, they force you to give tip even if the customer service is bad or they made you wait an hour after your appointment. The ambiance is nice but They have the worst customer service. This one time When I told them that this is the set they did and I was just wanting to get it fixed because yet again they broke off within the first 72 hours, they claimed they didnāt AFTER making me wait 30 min prior and they werenāt giving me any responses when calling out to them. I believe it was because they were busy but I still called an hour before hand to make an appointment as well. Poor planning on their part should not have repercussion on me. They are so rude and if they donāt want to do your set, theyāll refuse. Definitely pick and choose who to give the best treatment to. Itās unfortunate that I have to stop coming here because of the constant rude behavior. Iāve been coming for a year but itās just too consistent. My friends that Iāve sent to get their nails done also complain about the same thing which is really unfortunate. The manager is very...
