Moxie is a quaint local fusion restaurant, along Broadway in Denver, with tiny tables, an open kitchen, simple decor and many vegan and GF options of all varieties. The chocolate chip was not our fav, but it was a vegan, GF option and not quite our jam.
Spicy Chicken Thai salad: reminds me of a Korean cucumber kimchi mixed with chicken breast and a few other things. Most notably in this dish is a distinct cucumber kimchi flavor. Kimchi being one of my most favorite foods, I didn’t complain. I’m not sure what was “Thai” about this dish 🤷🏻♀️ but it was awesome. Very little lettuce in the bowl but it was delicious all around.
Falafel Waffle salad: this isn’t really a “salad” in terms of what a traditional salad might be, but nonetheless was a unique dish. The tomato, red onion, feta and cucumber mix was at the bottom of the bowl, with a…well, falafel but in the shape of a waffle on top. The cumin yogurt was fantastically flavored. It seemed to contrast in ingredients, yet together all tasted wonderful.
Chicken Ramen: great flavor, chicken pieces, and the egg is more of an egg omelet (think sushi tamago) and not a whole boiled egg like in many ramen dishes. Overall a great bowl of ramen.
Chicken Confit (special): a chicken quartet over mashed potatoes, a side of spring mix salad and, just…wow! Loved it.
Unsweetened iced tea was very refreshing, a slight hint of mint was just the right twist for a hot and sunny day.
The three of us crammed into a table meant for 1.5 persons, splitting 4 entrees because we wanted to taste so many things. Couldn’t order everything on the menu but we would have if we could.
No public restrooms that we saw, unfortunately which meant no hand washing station :( but that’s not uncommon around Denver. We had some...
Read morehard/mixed review- let’s start with the good -Food was amazing. Really tasted quite good. Got our meals in a timely manner. The man (Marco) who was working at the front was friendly and kind. The menu is large and unique. now the bad… we order curry potatoes (as an appetizer). Around 7 minutes after order we got our meals (no potatoes yet) we remind them of the potatoes that we were supposed to get before the meal which they forgot and would have out shortly. after maybe 20 more minutes we say again.. potatoes?? then after another 10 mins - we were long done with our meals- we finally got them. They were very good I highly recommend. we also found hair in one sandwich. it was pretty gross. and its possible that it was a couple hairs. no hair nets from the workers in the kitchen...
Read moreVisited Moxie today for the first time after a quick search of good food places near me. Very happy with our choice to go to Moxie. I was most excited about the ab&j (almond butter and fig jam on toast.) I initially bought it to share with my friend, but ended up ordering a second one because of how delicious it was. I have also been on an avocado toast kick and their version did not disappoint- I happen to love the combination of a runny egg with avocado, but I will say the tiny bites of guacamole inspired bites were a bit unexpected. My friend got the chicken ramen and she ate the entire bowl, which is saying something as they do give you a pretty good sized portion. Also really digging the atmosphere and the music choice. 5/5 will come...
