I recently visited Renegade Tacos & Margaritas on a Saturday night, and to be honest, the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. When I first walked in, I immediately noticed how empty the restaurant was for a weekend evening, which struck me as unusual. Unfortunately, after experiencing the food and service, I understood why.
Food Quality: The food lacked flavor and creativity. It honestly felt like the ingredients were simply thrown together in a tortilla with no effort to season or enhance the taste. There was no depth of flavor or signature touch that you would expect from a place specializing in tacos and margaritas. The chips and sides didn’t taste fresh, and overall, everything lacked spice and personality. To put it into perspective, I would have preferred Taco Bell or another fast-food option over what I was served here — at least there, you know what to expect and get better value for your money.
Service: The customer service was equally underwhelming. There appeared to be four bartenders, which seemed excessive given how slow the night was. One bartender was also serving tables, which caused significant delays in service at the bar and on the floor. It was frustrating to wait so long, especially when the restaurant wasn’t busy. To make matters worse, most of the staff seemed disengaged and unhappy to be there. There was no warmth, no smiles, no sense of hospitality — just a group of people going through the motions. At one point, I questioned whether anyone truly wanted to be working that night.
While I will acknowledge that my food was brought out quickly, it honestly felt rushed — and not in a good way. The presentation and taste reflected a lack of care. I would have preferred they took the time to prepare something flavorful rather than serving something so bland and uninspired.
Atmosphere & Management: The overall atmosphere was far from inviting. It didn’t feel like a vibrant, family-friendly environment or even a lively spot for a night out. Instead, it gave off the vibe of a cafeteria — and not a good one. From what I observed, there seems to be a lack of leadership and structure. The staff appeared unorganized and scattered, doing their own thing rather than working as a team. My waitress in particular seemed overwhelmed, possibly because she was trying to juggle both bartending and waiting tables. If she had focused on one role, the service might have been better. This points to a bigger issue: management needs to reevaluate staffing responsibilities and overall service standards.
Final Thoughts: I had high hopes for Renegade Tacos & Margaritas, but unfortunately, this experience left me disappointed. Between the bland food, lackluster service, and uninviting atmosphere, this is not a place I would recommend or return to. I sincerely hope management takes these issues seriously — from improving ingredient quality to providing better training and leadership for the staff. There is potential here, but significant changes need to happen for it to become a destination...
Read moreAweful food , Trash service. The only good thing about this place was the frozen marg probably because you can't mess it up.
I'd like to point out ths most of th revieews I leave on google are positve because I'm a good vibes person. But this service was BEYOND TRASH.
Two of my friends and i walk in on a Sunday lunch. It wasn't that busy. We made eye contact with a few servers. The sign says seat yourself. Yet and still it takes about 4 minutes for someone to attempt to bring us menus . I got up went inside to the bar and our server/ bartender said snipilly" I'll bring your menues to the tsble. (I guess the 30 sec -1min rule is no longer in effect in service industry... HEARD).
We order Guac, 3 quesadillas, a taco, ice tea and frozen marg.
Quesadillas were dropped off but no taco. We mention it to the server who deliverd our food (not barterder). Taco never came. Our server cam toward the end of the meal ( everyone was on the last of our 4 sices) she give a past due refill of ice tea. Ask if we wanted anything else. We say no. 10 min later I get up to go inside and ask for the check.
Finally. I got back to hotel and realized I left my phone on thier patio. I called from a friend phone and told them exactly where I was sitting at the table and on the patio and who my server/ bartender was. The person on the phone quote says they didnt see it there. No one turned it in. WHY WHEN I WALK BACK. THE PHONE IS SITTING EXACTLY WHERE I SAID I WAS!!!
I have worked in the i dustry for 16 years. Literally just got our 2 years ago. I've been busser to bar manager. Honestly for the first time today I truly understand why peope dont want to tip for service thst aweful. Luckily I have her her 21%. But for the life of me I want to leave a penny on top of her check. ULTIMATE DISRESPECT!

Read moreWe had seen this place when we ate elsewhere in the same area. We thought "wow cool name, nice outdoor area, cool mural outside on the walls. Let's check it out next time." Well we walk in today and the dude serving tables saw us and said nothing , his eyes looked away. Another chick waiting tables looked our way then looked away and didn't acknowledge us either. We sat ourselves as the sign says for us to do but after that neither of the waiters that clearly saw us walk in acknowledged us. At our table there were already menus there. Looking thru it I realized there was nothing but tacos and drinks. Well salads and soups too but only like two options for each . Then i realize its all adults up in there no families and we have kids so I thought , dang maybe these waitors didn't acknowledge us because they see we have kids and think we will leave anyway? Since we aren't their kind of customers? Regardless tho that's rude ! One can't just assume that. Everyone's money should be considered good money. And also we were obviously Hispanic and all there was up in there that we could see were white folk. So I guess our money and our kind was no good there . they couldn't even acknowledge we entered the place. I was really sad and disappointed and offended . like dude that's OUR cultures food and you're butchering it with your weird taco options, bad music, and rude staff. I hope I'm wrong and that maybe they were busy with the five little tables they had , and that after this review I hope they do better and practice customer...
