A deep dive into Wahoo's Fish Taco

Celiac Disease Friendly (NOT a dedicated gluten free facility but extremely knowledgeable and I did not get sick) So today (3/4/20) was my first time coming here. I have Celiac disease which means I'm ACTUALLY allergic to Gluten not just a diet. So even though it's easy to find places with GF menu's, it's VERY hard to find places with GF menus that have items that have low to no risk of cross contamination. Luckily though, when I called to see if Wahoo's was even an option for me, MARCUS answered. He told me "you bet, just ask for me when you get here". When I arrived first thing I noticed was the SUPER SICK building full of stickers that looks like customers put up EVERYWHERE, snowboards, skateboards, ski benches & just super rad and cool looking stuff. Feels like a tune shop that sells tacos lol. I got in line and I was called over by a younger lady to take my order, I mentioned my allergy and Marcus immediately must have heard me and asked his customer to switch with me so Marcus could be the one to take my order. He broke EVERYTHING down in terms of what my options were and WHY they were safe. 95% of the time I eat out, I don't get the "why" part, making confidence of no gluten in my food go WAY down almost ruining the meal. With Marcus though he gave me so much peace of mind I wasn't worried even the slightest, even watched and heard him go talk to the cook who was going to be making my meal. Absolutely amazing experience from a super cool restaurant, great prices, high quality taste amazing menu options, best customer service in terms of catering to my disease/allergy in a very long time. Marcus, you are DA MAN, man! I will ABSOLUTELY be back, if not for just the food but the atmosphere & customer service alone. Keep it up guys and hope if I come in on a day when Marcus isn't working that the person was somebody trained by Marcus. 🤙

I really didn't know what to order when I encountered the large assortment of choices so I went with steak and breaded fish tacos with slaw. The slaw covered the whole taco, which normally I prefer light garnish, but not knowing beforehand I wasn't aware to make that request. However I tasted the slaw and it was deliciously good that I could eat my taco without taking any garnish off. Next time I will ask for it on the side so I can enjoy it solo. The pinto beans / white rice combo were also a hit for me. Really great flavors. I should have ordered some for takeout smh. The salsa station had a good selection of mild to hot to suit your taste as the protein on the taco has mild taste. I will definitely make the trip here again to explore more choices.

Located within the Northfield shopping complex, this restaurant was clean and welcoming. There were only two employees manning the place, but since I was here between lunch and dinner, there was no line to order. The staff was friendly and my food was ready within 5 minutes so no complaints. This was my first time at a Wahoo's, so I have no favorites from the menu and ordered a grilled salmon taco and the 1988 Wahoo taco. The fish was a little dry, but the tortillas and the vegetables were all very fresh. The flavor was pretty good and the two street tacos filled me up enough to carry me over until dinner later that night. I will definitely be back to try some other taco styles.

Live in the neighborhood and can’t believe I haven’t been until today. I got the crispy fish taco and a margarita for $14 and some change (not hating on Torchy’s but much more bang for your buck). Both were delicious!! I especially loved the slaw on the taco. They have a great patio area with lots of late afternoon sun. They also have chargers for those of you with electric cars. An extra bonus is solid cell reception (they also have WiFi) something that’s hard to come by in the area. Met Brandon the GM and he was super kind and gracious to!! Thank you!

My experience with Wahoo was absolutely amazing. First of all, the vibe in this place is hella fire. The food was very tasty, and the staff was very helpful in navigating me through the menu. My friends and I got an array of items and were impressed by them all. The enchiladas were flavourful and cheesy, the tacos tasted fresh and invigorating, and the overall quality of the food was very appreciated. They even have a side counter where you can add various salsas and sauces to boost the flavour of your dishes. I will definitely be coming back.

Just tried their ceviche pineapple salad, quite a nice portion and really great taste! Needed a little dressing or something though. Their agave margaritas pack a punch but remain to be the perfect sweet, sour, salty combination you want in a good marg. Great spot near the Shops, and although it is busy for the lunch hour, I never have a very long wait. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating for our hour lunch break time constraint. The shrimp tacos are very tasty on corn tortillas for those of us looking for gluten free options!
