First off-- simply being open 24/7 and NOT having horrible, hateful employees is, in itself, worth about 3.12 stars these days. Add in the fact that the donuts are the bomb dot com, and we're definitely over the 4-star mark. With consideration for the variety of oh-so-sweet, nausea-inducing treatery they have on hand, and I believe it's fair to say that this location gets 5-stars... The folks are always friendly, with the one exception being quite understandable (it was circa 4am on a Saturday night-- or, I suppose Sunday morning for most human-folks-- and a few vagrant individuals were seeking refuge from the weather; given that fact, along with there being but one female employee on staff-- I'd say she was almost certainly not intending to be less-than-attentive, as each of the aformentioned folks were clearly dancing to the beat of their own drums; it's likely fair to assume that each was holding, or attempting nonetheless, a vastly different tempo than the others). So, I certainly don't feel that I received poor service by any stretch of the imagination. Then, above all-- MIND. BLOWN. YES, BLOWN. Ya see, I've got this "thing" for their Cinnamon Crunch donuts. In fact, if a location does not have them, I generally go about my way... That said, I did not "go about my way" any of the times I happened to be passing this location, as they have always had a fresh batch of them. As if that weren't enough, they actually had two different varieties of them. What!?! Indeed. Two. Different. Varieties...of the SAME THING. How does that even work? (Well, it's quite simple to be honest-- one is a cake donut, while the other is not). So, cake or otherwise, what you want is quite likely here-- and time? What, my friends, is time, when a joint NEVER CLOSES? I'll tell you: it's IRRELEVANT! SO, come getcha some. Now....
Read moreFIRST OF ALL... I really love donuts and this was the only place that was available to order from near me. I ordered from Doordash because I had a universal headache. I ordered a hot cappuccino with half a dozen donuts.Im astounded..... I'm so used to having really warm fresh donuts and when they served them to me- they didn't put it in a box, they put them in a small paper bag and the donuts were all squashed. Some of the donuts, were heavier than the glazed or the ones with filling. Like WTF! The heavier ones were the chocolate ones and they put them on top. The chocolate ones are so heavy and hard that I'm actually afraid to bite into one of them. The cappuccino was obviously from powder and water. Ugh. It was actually very disgusting. I don't understand why it needs to be fake cappuccino. It tasted like I was drinking coffee grinds from yesterday in hot water. I was actually taken aback. I expected more from a Donut Shop. I actually prefer Krispy Creme than this. Jesus bless them. Those are Christ donuts. I thought it would be nice to get in touch with a donut shop nearby, but it wasn't all that great like I knew it would be. The location is off of Federal Blvd. and just the location itself looks very sketch. I have driven past it and ignored it for a couple of years now, but some of my friends have gone there because it's the only donut place that doesn't take half an hour to get to. I was actually disappointed. I’ll make sure that next time the trip is well worth it to...
Read moreI have been going to this Winchell's donuts for years. I am a native of North Denver and had the worst experience ever the other day. I'm a senior citizen. I have a donut with my coffee every day and I do go to the Winchell's on Federal. I had never had a problem there and all these years and the other day I went in and paid $16 for a dozen of donuts and all of them are dry. I went in the next morning to switch them out. I didn't want my money back. I just want new donuts. The Male that was there that looks Hispanic but he is not was very rude and I think it's because I was a woman. Refused to give me fresh donuts and said to come back when the original man was there that sold them to me. What an inconvenience he wanted to make me go through. My grandson had to have a conversation about customer service with these gentlemen. He refused so we asked him to call the manager. He would not give his name because he didn't want me to write a review about him. I will never go to this Winchell's ever again. It's bad enough we have to pass by a bunch of people doing crack on the side of the building. I will only go to the Winchell's on 44th from now on. They will never get my money again. If I could give them a zero I would. Sad for them. They just lost a...
