Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Deptford Township

Don't get me wrong; the food here is fantastic. that gets 5 stars. thats not why I'm writing this review. In March, I made a fundraiser event scheduled with Deptford Chipotle for the first weekend in May. all was well. 2 weeks later they called and said that weekend didn't work (cinco de mayo weekend) so they asked if we could reschedule for June 7. I was flexible and said that was fine because it was still before the date of the Relay for Life we were fundraising for, which is on June 13. On Sunday, May 31 (one week prior) I called to confirm with the manager because I hadn't received event flyers from them. The manager CONFIRMED with me. I thought confirmed meant "confirmed", like any other person would. Today, 15 MINUTES prior to my fundraiser start, they called to tell me that they had erased our American Cancer Society event from their calendar tonight. I JUST confirmed last week with them and now we are "out of their system". I understand accidents happen, but when I called a week ago I was told it was good to go. All they said was "sorry, we can do June 28th for you though", which is later than the date of the actual Cancer Walk that the whole fundraiser was for! I wish that who I spoke to there was more accommodating to me, perhaps held the fundraiser at some point this WEEK, especially because it is for a great cause. "Sorry" doesn't fix it, and I ALREADY CHANGED THE EVENT DATE FOR YOU GUYS! I will not be using this Chipotle again for another fundraiser of any kind, even though they were great to us for last year's fundraiser. It's completely ridiculous. The food is great, but please, get your business end of things together - what a waste of my time marketing for...

So I don’t usually leave reviews, but the experience at this location was SO BAD it compelled me to write a review as a warning for others. I preface this with the fact that I love Chipotle, both for the food and efficiency of the chain. This location has neither. When I got to the location the line was wrapped around the store to the back, which is not unusual for Chipotle so it didn’t deter. However, 40 min later we were still on line and at this point too committed to leave. When we get to the front it’s obvious why. Though there were definitely enough people working, there was ONE person working the main food line. He was also possibly the slowest human being to ever work in the food industry. He kept spilling food and then taking 10 min each time to wipe the mess. All the while the woman at the counter was just standing there staring off into space instead of helping move the food orders along. While we were standing there waiting for almost an hour at this point, we noticed the chicken that was cooking on the grill in the back. Once the cook flipped it over the chicken was burned. Not the good kind of char that gives flavor, the kind that is just straight black and needs to be scrapped off. Last but not least, all the drinks were out and the ice machine was broken. The location is run by teenagers that look like they just smoked a fat one and could care less about...

Yesterday I order pick up online and my pick up time was at 5:30pm. You’d think that time would be before any dinner rush. Nope , wrong! I LITERALLY stood with about 20 other ppl who also either ordered pick up or where drivers for door dash. Mind you the order line which was clear out the door when I arrived to pick up my food went through at least 3 or 4 times. People who ordered walking past the group that was waiting for pick up, normally it’s the other way around. After waiting 45 minutes PAST my pick up time along with others. I thought well let me just get in line since that seems to be the ONLY way to get food. I tell the guy that I ordered at 5:30 and it now was 6:15, and if he could just make my food since there was no line. He kindly did but the women at the take out counter seemed annoyed and basically expected me to wait longer. Like no, it’s called pick up for a reason! Order in advance, pick up with no wait! Honestly, if it wasn’t for me getting in line I would have waited longer with no apology or explanation besides we’re behind in orders. If I can be in and out of Chick Fil A drive through which is clear out to the street in 15 minutes no other food operation have an legitimate excuse. I won’t be going to this...
