Recommend: Seaweed salad Chicken Katsu Curry Ramen Good: Gyu don (beef bowl) Ok: Onigiri Black garlic mayu ramen Updated review: Review based on food only as always I'm not sure what happened but this place is definitely not as good as it used to be. Onigiri was overly salty. Ramen broth was also overly salty and oily and the noodles were overcooked and didn't have any of the classic bouncy ramen noodles texture. The egg was also hard boiled with no jammy center. Gyudon was enjoyable, but pretty sweet. They are understaffed (exactly 1 person in front of house) who seems like they do not want to be there. We had to chase them to pay the check, and asked for takeout boxes several times before giving up and grabbing the takeout boxes from a nearby table. Original review: This place is very cute. The texture of the noodles was very nice and maybe it was that we went late and it wasn't as crowded but we got our food super fast. Personally I'm not about the cooked seaweed in the ramen and the corn did not wow as toppings but the broth was nice. The onigiri was nice but didn't compare to my faves from other places. Seaweed salad was diced nicely

I ordered a chicken cutlet curry platter ($14), pork cutlet don($13), and mango chicken wings ($7). The chicken cutlet curry platter was delicious. The cutlet was nice and crispy. Once I dug in I found a spring roll buried in it! It was a very nice surprise. I also like that they gave the curry stew on the side. It was my favorite of all three dishes I ordered. I would get that again. The pork cutlet don was okay. The cutlet was fried to perfection just like the chicken. Once I dug in, it was all downhill. The rice was mushy and the egg was not good. It looked like the added some type of gravy and mixed it in the rice. The egg was a weird color and the texture was off. I won't order that again. The wings had a good flavor. I prefer my wings more crispy. These wings were a bit rubbery. Just a personal preference thing. If I ordered that again I would request them fried a bit harder. The have great customer service. There were quite a few customers coming in. It was bright and looked very clean inside. The portion size was large. The next time we go, we will dine in.

Food ordered: - Japanese scallion pancake - Kyushu Tonkatsu Ramen When I saw 'Japanese' scallion pancake on the menu, I immediately thought of okonomiyaki with scallions, and on top are the typical sauces and bonito flakes. What was served was regular Chinese scallion pancakes with a non-traditional sauce. Perhaps a Japanese sauce. I would be okay if the menu says Chinese scallion pancake vice Japanese scallion pancake because I would have a different expectation. And it was served burnt...like large black burnt spots on several pieces. For the ramen, I have never tasted a ramen that had the gamey pork flavor in the soup!!! To me, that was unacceptable. Period. The soup also lacked depth and flavor. The noodles were over boiled. This whole bowl was unacceptable and should not be served. On the positive side, the restaurant was clean. I saw that they were wiping down each menu. The servers were nice. They also gave us fruit at the end of our meal. Overall, I would not come back or recommend this place to anyone.

I'm not sure what happened but this place is definitely not as good as it used to be.

I hate being this person but this was the most horrific dining experience I’ve ever encountered. The pork in the ramen my girlfriend ordered smelled and tasted rancid. We never send food back but we had no choice because it was inedible. When the bill came the ignorant waiter refused to take it off the bill because he said “she tasted it” and “it’s not fair to not pay for it” even though she had two bites and 95% of it was still in the bowl. We sat there for 10 minutes arguing with this guy about how restaurants operate when food is sent back. He stood over top of me blocking my way out of the booth like a club bouncer and got increasingly belligerent as the arguing progressed. He went back to call his boss so I added up what we actually ate minus the funky smelling pork ramen and left the money on the front counter plus a 0$ tip for his terrific service. My ramen wasn’t bad but the chicken was dry and definitely was cooked way beforehand possibly yesterday and just thrown in. I’d give 0 stars but it’s not an option. Go to Philly for good...
