Came here Thursday night a little before 5 for a nice quiet dinner to catch up on some reading. I was seated at a nice comfy booth even though it was just me. I really appreciated this, as it was super comfortable. Don't judge this place from the strip mall it's in--The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the music was super chill and relaxing. I was really in a state of zen the whole meal :) To drink was a nice pot of Oolong tea. I started with a house salad with peanut dressing. Super fresh, and very enjoyable. Next was crispy duck over kee mow fried rice. Truly delectable dish. Not too salty, and the rice just melted in your mouth. The crispy duck was actually crispy--something you don't find often. For dessert was mango and sticky rice with a creamy coconut sauce. All too often, I find these dishes to be too sweet. This wasn't. It was just perfect - the right mix of sweet and slight saltiness from the rice. I can't say enough good things about Pinto Thong, and I wish them the absolute best with their new restaurant. I will absolutely be back very soon. And a big YIKES to one of the negative reviewers below--who manages to give every restaurant he tries one star, and says they're each "disgusting." Then to condemn a place because of its location and the history of previous restaurants...a very sad person indeed.

As far as I’m concerned - this is the best Thai place on the east coast. Seriously, I’ve traveled all over the states and this place is phenomenal! Don’t let the outside fool you - and the fact it’s tiny and intimate inside. The chef cooks with passion and pride - the ingredients are so fresh you’ll think they were just picked from a garden out back. Service was friendly and spectacular. Super vegan friendly and tons of options on proteins. Loved the noodles, spring rolls and soup. Mango sticky rice - heck yes. Top notch !

Had the Roasted Duck Noodle Soup and a Thai Iced Tea. Both were great and the staff were quick and very nice. Cool environment. Not much like this in Deptford. Glad to have it here. ^^That is my original review which was the first of this restaurant on Google and I have to say, through the pandemic and changing their interior, the kind staff and delicious food has never changed. I love this place. You can get the food as spicy or mild as you like, which is awesome. Please give this place a try.

The good:

  1. Food tastes good overall

  2. Location easy to get to

  3. Menu is simple

  4. Priced fairly

The Bad

  1. Flies a problem bec no double doors

  2. Place is about 15 x 15 Can hear ppl chewing breathing sniffing moaning as eating smell body odors, and hear loud conversations.

  3. One waitress 7 days a week all hours who wears same clothing

  4. All employees are likely owners & family, and they don't have any other help.

  5. Waitress and kitchen workers are usually sick and can be seen sniffing and heard coughing in kitchen

  6. Waiting for take out is done by sitting at any table in dining room bec no room to stand. They are often unkept, sonetimes sick, smelly and inconsiderate ie on a loud phone call

  7. Waitress and kitchen can really only handle one meal at a time so you may be forgotten about if there are a couple tables ahead

  8. posted hours and days they are open are ever changing and posted on the door. You can only know this if you look at the door for this week's current open times, they can also be closed for a week at moments notice for pop up vacations.

  9. The hours posted aren't even followed by the restaurant. For instance on a Sunday, it's posted on the door they close at 8pm. But at 7:20 it was raining so they shut down. Arrived with a group at 7:20 and couldnt get in. Blinds were all down, couldnt see in but saw reflections of the employee. Knocked and they won't answer. They aren't even closed supposedly. It's like it turns into someone's house.

  10. Some items are very bad while some are good.

  11. Because no double doors gets very humid in summer upon a door opening for take out or freezing cold in winter months

Bottom line: A majority of things on menu are decent and good while others are terrible.

Service and hours of operation are unreliable and deeply unprofessional

The potential for receiving germs, and food borne illness is real from many sources

The dining area is microscopic and unconfortable hence all those for takeout

There is no respect in any way for you if eating in, from other diners, take out customers, waitress and management

The place seems to turn into someone's home whenever they decide which comes across as unprofessional

The good news is A lot of this can...

Their portions are generous, and the food is very tasty. We had dumplings, the Pad Thai and Pad Woon Sen. Thai iced tea came at around $4. At even larger, highrr-rated Thai restaurants, it is under $3.

If you're into Thai food, don't mind the small setting and won't be bringing a large group on a busy night, then this is the place to go to.

The music and atmosphere were warm and inviting... The lights are very dim, which adds to the relaxing ambiance. The waitress is nice and the service is fast.

While we were there, many people were coming in just to pick up their take-out, so it seemed popular for that, too.

The bathroom was dark and dated. It really needs updating...has just one light hanging over toilet with no lighting over the sink... It was dusty/dirty. There was no hook behind the door or on the wall to hang your personal belongings at... neither did it have air ventilation, which was extremely disgusting; but you can make do with it as it has the basics. Just makes some wonder how clean they are, really. A business can have a nice facade and appearance, but really masking and decorating the front while neglecting other parts of hospitality for its guests is a 👎.

This place can definitely pull off a nice takeout experience in the future...
