Sarku sits right next to Chic-Fil-A in the Deptford Mall food court, and gives it a run for its money, which ain't an easy task. Every single Chic-Fil-A you pull up to in the Tri-state area is jam packed to such a degree that you start to suspect they might be puttin a little somethin extra in their chicken patties than just hormone-laden poultry. But anywho, at Sarku I slid some succulent shrimps down my throat, and the chicken, vegetables, and fried rice that came with it also titillated my sophisticated palate. They cook it right in front of ya so you know they're not droppin it on the kitchen floor somewhere in back and slappin it on your styrofoam tray after callin the 5-second-rule. I was feelin particularly ravenous that day so I ordered some of their dumplings too, and they ain't half bad. I wouldn't recommend the beef teriyaki though, which I got on a previous excursion, cus I wasn't all that impressed. Overall I think that if you're startin to grow suspicious that chic-fil-a sprinkles a not so legal extremely addictive white powdery substance that was popular in the 80's into their chicken patties and you're lookin' for an alternative, then I think you oughta give little Sarku Japan next door a try. Dunno how closely it resembles anything people in Japan actually eat, but at least it tastes like its been made with a little bit of love. Or this whole review was an exaggeration and I let my lust for fried rice overcome me and skew my perception of...
Read moreI was here yesterday on 4/1 / 21 & I was in line waiting for Chick -Fil-A but there was a half hour wait time & I was really hungry & I saw that this place serves sushi & I went with one my favorites the Philadelphia roll & it was really awesome & definitely delicious. I would have gotten the bento box but I decided that I will get it another time when I come back . I was actually impressed with the skills that went into preparing my Philadelphia rolls. Sorry Chick -Fil-A you have lost me to Sarku Japan & Sarku Japan has gained a new loyal patron in me & I will definitely be back to enjoy more of my favorite sushi rolls & tempura as well. It was definitely well worth the price & the food is definitely...
Read moreThe food is great, but the cross contamination of foods gets them a low rating. This would not be the ideal place for anyone allergic to fish or shellfish. When handling the raw fish for sushi, the gloves were not changed after handling the fish. The container the sushi was put in was contaminated by the the gloves. The next order of sushi was made with the same gloves and the entire container of rice was contaminated with the gloves. They used the same spatulas on the Shrimp...
