Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Detroit Lakes

12/12/2015 around 8-8:30pm My family was at our local DQ to have a family treat night. I have to say I was extremely disappointed with the condition that the restaurant was in. The floors were very dirty. Dirt, napkins and French fries everywhere, and I don't mean one here or there. I mean from the front of the store all the way to the back. The young guys working that night were more concerned with standing in the back prep area chatting and laughing about partying and passing out (great conversation, especially when it's so loud our little ones could hear it!) then they were cleaning. The tables were sticky, windows covered in dirty sticky finger prints. Honestly, it looked like the store hadn't been cleaned in months! At this point, my husband has stated that we will not return to DQ in the future until we see some major improvements! Sad that it's been that this every visit in the past...

We stopped here for a quick lunch- and thought it was a fairly safe bet since Dairy Queen is everywhere. However, I was served raw chicken. After bringing it to the attention to the manager, he tried explaining to my husband that because the chicken strips come in frozen and thick, they can stick together and this sometimes happens.

This is ridiculous- that’s why you don’t overflow the fryer, shake the basket, and leave the basket down for a specific time.

The manager seemed very lost to the fact that raw chicken is very dangerous and seemed shocked when we wanted a refund on the order. No sincere apologies or concern.

Worst DQ experience to date. The girl got our order wrong. Asked FOUR times for two 3 pc chkn stp baskets with one blizzard, one lemonade and a side order of regular cheese curds. I only got 2 pieces for my basket. My fiancé got his 3 but they were very small. No toast or fries with either of them. To make it worse instead of reading back what was on her screen she just doubled the drinks and blizzard and obviously replaced fries with cheese curds. Then had someone else take care of our order. I had my fiancé pay for it just so we wouldn't hold up the line. But very ridiculous and very disappointing. First time here and NOT a good impression especially being a former DQ manager and...
