Update 8/31/2023: I am amazed by the efficiency of the beautiful female manager/carry-out worker. I wish I knew her name so that I could thank her properly. I stepped into a wild dinner rush, but yet she calmly handled the chaos with impressive calm and focus. In my past life I worked in a Thai restaurant and wanted so badly to roll up my sleeves and help out with the rush! My food was fresh, hot and ready, and as always nothing short of amazing. Appreciate the consistent quality and authentic Thai soul food that I am grateful to enjoy every time I order from Bai Mai Thai. Memories are a powerful thing, and you all bring back through each bite those memories I cherish.

Had a most outstanding carry out experience from here today. Absolutely delicious!! Warm and friendly service. I ordered lunch portions of Chicken Kow Pad and Drunken Noodle (pork), and was given huge portions on both, so much in fact that I was left with more than enough for tomorrow as well. I also want to share the thoughtfulness in how they packaged my drunken noodles, it was wrapped up well on the inside of the to-go box with saran wrap so that the sauce did not leak out everywhere. Best...

Me and my husband are regulars. We come here often and love how consistent the food is. I make sure to check the hours they close and we drive far to come eat here. But TWO times in a row we come in a little over an hour before they close. (Today they close at 11 and we came at 9:45) they told us they couldn't seat us and we had to order take out). I wouldn't have a problem with his if they hadn't served us twice around this time before. They aren't consistent and I am very disappointed that this happened again. I literally begged the manager to seat us this time because I didn't want to be turned away twice but she told me she couldn't help me. She knows how much we come and she even has our orders memorized but she couldn't do me that curtesy not even this one time. So I will no longer be returning. they should have it on their hours that they don't seat people after 9:30 when they close at 11. This will avoid long drives and disappointment. Love the food but I'm no longer...

Went for the first time last night and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Mat-sa-man and it was VERY good. I enjoy lots of spice so I ordered Hot - it was almost too much so definitely be careful what level you get. I love spicy food so luckily I still enjoyed it but I may dial it back next time. The flavor of the curry was amazing and there was plenty of chicken, onions, and fried potatoes. The amount of rice was just right to sop up all the leftover curry. My brother-in-law had the Pad Pak. The Thai brown sauce here is more of a broth consistency - very good flavor, just a little different than what we're used to - that being more of a thicker brown sauce. We are fans of Bangkok Crossing in Campus Martius, but I may just have to come back to Bai Mai instead. Very interested in their Pad Thai to compare to others (like Bangkok Crossing, Bangkok 96 etc.), but it's hard to get the Pad Thai when there's so many other good options on their menu. Thumbs...

I gave a 4-star review four years ago & for some reason I'm not able to leave another so I'll just update this one, down to 3-stars. 4 years later and I'm still eating here just not as often, and I now live within walking distance. Carry out isn't packaged as good and I'm not a fan of the styrofoam over the hard plastic. The portions are much smaller. Dinner portions are very close in size to lunch, only a different size container is used making the dinner portions look even smaller. Small enough to not be worth the price difference and lunch runs late so no reason not to order it. I do appreciate the freshness and they're always happy to add extra spice on the side so you can order medium heat but turn it hot when you want. *drunken noodles, lunch

I work in the area so this used to be the place to go, but I was off work and I drove all the way to Downtown Detroit because I was craving Thai food. I order Pad Thai noodles, got home, the noodles were stuck together I had to add water to loosen them up, I had one shrimp, two piece of crab meat and two scallops, no vegetables and the noodles were hard. I called and she said she would give me some extra sauce when I explained I’m not driving back 30 minutes for extra sauce she said I’ll give you 15% off your next order, what? I told her but the food I have is not edible. I told her I was doing a review and she chuckled wow welp they have lost my service and most likely my job service as well.

Not so authentic if you asking me as South East Asian person who loves Thai Food so much. I ordered their Thai Fried Rice, thai curry puff and seafood tom yum. The thai fried rice to wet-ty and too much soy sauce. Curry puff too blant and the dough not so tasty. The seafood tom yum kinda a savior for my visit. Feels so fresh, sour, sweet and spicy perfectly. But, eventho the food not so great, I still give four stars because the service as usual, Thai people never failed on giving the best service in F&B industry. They are the best !!!
