Went there for Sunday brunch. Glad I did!
The prices were a tad high for the food quantity, but honestly I don't mind. The quality more than made up for the volume, and the servers seem to be well paid, so totally worth it!
I had the key lime French toast with a side of salmon bacon, my brunch partner had the seafood omelette.
The French toast itself was a bit dry, but that made it soak the key lime syrup really well. Overall I liked it. The salmon bacon was... Odd. It was basically the skin and fat from a salmon fillet, smoked and then lightly fried. My overall impression was "salty!" The smokiness was welcome, and there was enough meat that it made a great side for my toast, but the salt was a bit much.
The omelet, he tells me, was competent and well thought out, but the flavor just seemed to be lacking. Great texture, but it all blended into blandness.
That's basically my opinion of the whole place: competent, passable, but not quite to the level I'd like to see. But they're also still kinda new, so I'm hoping they continue to refine.
Servers were awesome and friendly! Kept our water full and made sure we felt taken care of.
The music was too loud, though. Decent music choices, just turned up a bit more than I'd like, to be able to carry on a conversation with anybody more than 2 ft away.
Ended up spending around $30 per person, which for what we got was a little high, but certainly not unreasonable. Worth it,...
Read moreI recently visited Blvd Brunch House with a party of five. While the atmosphere was chill, fun, and perfect for family meetups or catching up with friends, the dining experience itself was a mixed bag.
We waited about 20 minutes for a table, which wasn’t too bad. However, after being seated, it took another 20 minutes to get our food—and it was served to each of us separately, which made things awkward. I was the last one in my group to be served.
Let’s start with the highlight: the wings. Absolutely amazing. They were flavorful, cooked to perfection, hot, and fresh. I’d come back just for those wings alone.
Unfortunately, the fish and chips were a huge disappointment. My first plate arrived with the bottom half of the cod completely ice cold. It seemed like frozen fish that hadn’t been cooked through. I did taste a piece of the first batch and, oddly enough, the flavor was good—so there was some potential. But after sending it back, the second plate was a disaster. The fish came out dry, burnt, and honestly, it should have never left the kitchen. If I could make one suggestion to the kitchen: please remove the fish and chips from the menu entirely.
Overall, Blvd Brunch House has a great vibe and those wings might bring me back—but if you’re eyeing the fish and chips, do yourself a favor and run...
Read moreYall… my hopes where high. Genuinely was looking forward to a good brunch spot which the reviews seemed to steer towards but this place.. somewhat regret going. Getting in, a long wait to be seated (expected), waiting to get my order taken, a long wait. Waiting for the food to come, a long wait, waiting for to pay the bill, a long wait. And for all that that time spent inside the restaurant the food was just alright. “Crème brûlée waffles” don’t recommend, a hard sugar crust (traditional to a Crème brûlée) smashed into pieces on top of barely sweetened waffles. Half of it was inedible while the rest was just not enough.. four little mini waffles which granted is creative, doesn’t seem to have the satisfaction of proper stacked waffles nor did it have enough of the “Crème” to moisten or sweeten it. Though, the “battata harra” (breakfast potatoes or country style fries) was acceptable, well seasoned and tasted like the traditional Levantine dish I’ve had in more authentic middle eastern restraints so that was the crowning jewel of this meal. Overall I didn’t expect much when I came and left pretty disappointed. The atmosphere was nice and a lot of people seemed to be excited by the way it looked but truly it left much to be desired.. Come if you have 2 hours and a taste for something...
