Long post 🚨:
SEE YOU TOMORROW IS TRASH BAGS. Absolute trash bags!!!!
Disclmer: I AM ALWAYS COURTEOUS AND RESPECTFUL TO PPL THAT MAKE MY FOOD!!!!………………They reheat old food and have terrible customer service. NOT TO MENTION THEY CALLED THE POLICE ON ME WHEN I TRIED HAVING AN ACTUAL DECENT DISCUSSION WITH THE MANAGER!
How would u feel if when asked how the food was, if the so called manager laughed in your face and walked off?!?! I was highly irritated to say the least. The first red flag was when the female cook first spoke up and said she couldn’t make my potatoes well done. I just couldn’t understand that. She keeps talking about because they’re broasted. I get well done broasted potatoes from chicken shack and other places……so of course i dont understand why u cant make em like that…..oh u cant make me well potatoes done because they were PREVIOUSLY MADE AND NOT FRESH!!!! So they would’ve been lil bricks!!! Gotcha ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿 the food is over priced, and mid at best!!!!! The salmon croquettes were the size of silver dollar pancakes!!!!
The manager walks an order out to the car. I stop him and say “excuse me are u the manager” he says yes and i ask him how he would feel if the manager laughed in his face about his food? He clearly didnt like the question. But im lost cuz thats exactly what he did to me. He then cuts me off and begins to over talk me. I say, “excuse me can i finish talking?!?!” He cuts me short and starts yelling I’ll just remove it from ur bill. I continue talking to my cousin as he (the manager) goes behind the counter and starts to yell, “oh i’m over here if u wanna keep talking. U wanna talk some shit I’ll be over here” now im irate because i addressed it respectfully and then he cuts me short, starts yelling and now he’s behind the counter turning up and acting gangsta!!!! We gangbanging on bacon?!?!?! Smh
He’s the only one yelling at this point and talking crazy. The other workers dont even know what the problem is or who it was with!!! him having a managerial position is crazy work!!! I havent shouted one time yet. No one talked to him or tried to calm him down as hes creating the hostile situation. I get up and shout “i tried to have a decent conversation with u tho” instantly the lady that had a problem with making my potatoes well done exclaims, “IM CALLING THE POLICE”…….now hold on. Record scratch……Ur about to call the police because of bad customer service and cuz yall food nasty is crazy work!!!! Before this, i was excited to give them a try. My cousin and i go to breakfast alot. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THAT PLACE AGAIN. CUZ IF U DONT LIKE THE FOOD THEY MIGHT CALL THE POLICE ON U!!!!! 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️ i am stilll in disbelief that this happened this way. I hope no other patron has to go thru this kind of customer service. Its ashamed that i work as a bouncer and i put ppl out using my words mostly. But they thought calling the police was the best move in that situation, when we were already leaving anyway. SYT YALL SUCK AND NEED TRAINING TO PROPERLY RUN A BUSINESS. Cuz that aint it. CHECK UR ATTITUDES AT...
Read morefriendly and attentive, and my order did come up quickly.
I ordered the Reuben, which is a classic. It’s a simple enough sandwich but when I go out to a new place that has one, their execution tells me everything I need to know about a restaurant.
I was slightly disappointed when I was informed that this $15 sandwich does not come with a side. I reluctantly ordered anyway, hoping the sandwich itself would justify the price.
So first things first, a Reuben is a corned beef sandwich, with Swiss, kraut, thousand island and is served on grilled rye bread. This is a simple sandwich, and every individual ingredient on it is what makes it a Reuben, anything else is not.
What I received was a corned beef sandwich, with Swiss, kraut, thousand island, on a Kaiser roll. It does mention a Kaiser roll on the menu, but more than it not being rye that upset me was that it wasn’t grilled or toasted. Either way, what I received was not a Reuben. Maybe just call it a corned beef with Swiss.
For a $14.50 sandwich without a side, portion did seem small, and I’ve definitely gotten bigger Reubens for the same price that at least came with a bag of chips or a side of potatoes. (Detroit House of Pancakes Reuben goes for 50 cents more , comes with potatoes and the sandwich is almost 2x as big, and that place is way overpriced on nearly everything else)
As for the execution, while I did have a 5 minute walk back to the warehouse where I work, the middle of the sandwich should not have been stone cold. They use the same style of oven to heat their sandwiches that subway uses and it does not do the job.
Suggestions to the owner:
Buy a case of better made chips and throw those in with four sandwiches. Better yet, increase your prices 50-75 cents and include a side of potatoes. The portions you offer at this price point do not make sense.
Get some rye bread for your Reuben. If you’re going to put a classic sandwich on your menu, execute it properly. If nothing else, at least grill the inside of the Kaiser roll.
Dial in your subway sandwich oven. If I wanted a sandwich that was cold in the center, I would have walked to tropical smoothie and paid half as much. A Reuben is traditionally grilled so make sure that sandwich comes...
Read moreMy friends and I visited this restaurant during a trip from Chicago to Detroit, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing.
After placing our order, it took over an hour to receive our food. The dishes were brought out at random times—one friend received her meal, finished eating, and we were still waiting on ours. This lack of coordination was frustrating, especially given the wait time.
We also ordered mimosas, which were mostly orange juice with just a splash of champagne. When we raised concerns and asked to speak with a manager, no one came to our table. It felt as though, because this is a pay-first establishment, our concerns were not a priority.
Eventually, I approached the manager myself. He had just arrived, was unaware of the situation, and was very understanding. He offered to either remake the drinks or issue a refund—I chose the refund. However, this is where the experience worsened.
The owner, who had been present the entire time and chose not to engage with us, suddenly intervened. She was aggressive, raised her voice, and put her hand in my face, stating, “We don’t do refunds on liquor!” If that’s the policy, it would be helpful if the manager were informed of it as well. Her unprofessional and disrespectful behavior was shocking.
To add to the disappointment, the food was underwhelming—it looked seasoned but tasted bland, almost like leftovers. The restaurant is small and uncomfortable, and the patio had issues with flies and bees. We were told if we dine outside, we can not make entry back into the restaurant The only positive part of our visit was our server, Ron, who was kind and attentive throughout.
Overall, this experience was deeply disappointing. Between the poor service, disrespectful management, and lackluster food, I cannot recommend...
