Tony V's Tavern — Restaurant in Detroit

Me and family decided to stop in tonight 12/27/2024 to have dinner. From first encounter the staff barely spoke, and one staff member was smoking a vape in the restaurant. We ignored that and still decided to sit down. We sat down for food and an elderly lady came in for drinks. Not one time was she served or even asked, take in mind there are literally 4 people in the restaurant and it was completely empty. So we asked the waitress is there a reason she wasn’t served, she responded well I was helping you guys. Then after she began explaining that one of the other waitress’s didn’t like her. That put a bad taste in my mouth because that’s no reason to not serve someone. The food came out and it wasn’t good at all, and I am 90% sure we saw a roach. Staff extremely rude, cleanliness sub par, and the food is not great at all. I have a soft spot for the elderly and I also stand strong on equal rights and service. The only reason I am writing this review is because I know that elderly woman doesn’t understand technology and how to leave a review. I didn’t like the encounter with her, at no point in time is it ok to not serve someone because a waiter doesn’t like them and at no point in time is it ok to down talk Customers in front of other customers. I recently had the pleasure of ordering a sandwich and chicken strips from a local restaurant and I have to say, they were absolutely delicious.

The sandwich was made with freshly-baked bread and filled with tender, juicy slices of ham, turkey, and bacon, topped with melted cheese, lettuce, tomato, and a special sauce that brought all the flavors together. The bread was perfectly toasted, giving it a crispy texture that was the perfect complement to the savory fillings. With every bite, I was transported to flavor heaven and felt like I had found my new favorite sandwich.

The chicken strips were equally as impressive. They were made with fresh, tender chicken breast coated in a crispy, golden breadcrumb coating that was perfectly seasoned. The chicken was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful on the inside, and crunchy on the outside. They came with two dipping sauces that were equally delicious - a tangy honey mustard and a smoky barbecue sauce that perfectly balanced out the flavors.

Was looking for a new, casual bar to check out, instead of going to my usual haunt. We sat in the back, where only one other table was occupied. I had to "find" a waitress after waiting at my table a good 15 minutes. The drinks took forever to arrive. 2 more tables became occupied. We placed our order and after waiting 20-30 minutes, with no update about our order (2 burgers w/cheese, 1 w/fries, 1 RARE, w/tater tots) and watching the other 2 tables receive their food, I inquired about our order. No explaination was give, just an apology for the delay. Our food arrived about 10 mins later. The rare burger was clearly DONE, there was no cheese and I received fries, not tots. The waitress did not return to check on our satisfaction for ANOTHER 7 or so minutes. The other 2 occupied tables had eaten and left. I ate the fries and returned my burger, my companion wanted to take her burger to go. The waitress took BOTH of our burgers and said that she would comp our drinks. 2 free drinks and good fries.
