Maryann and Wanda's Eatery — Restaurant in Dickson

FYI anyone thinking of eating or catering from here!!! If you are having their bar b cu for a catering or having it in store it is pre ordered from Whitt’s or rays 2 local bar b cue places in Dickson. So yes it is yummmy but not made in their restaurant just bought and sold for a higher price. As well as their Cole slaw.” Fried buzzard”Thursdays or catering also yummy but not from the eatery. Every fried chicken order is pre ordered day of from Kroger deli which is right next door to the eatery! Salmon patties in a am mixed with crackers yall! Their “baked ham” is literally the Kentucky legend packaged sliced ham from Kroger! Taco bar weddings yep also not from the eatery.. shout out to Maria at Camino also right down the rd from the eatery. And I know of couples who have driven two HOURS to sample their taco bar from Maryann and Wanda’s when they could have just door dashed from their local Camino real restaurant! Buy for cheaper charge much more! Their sides are all from a can except their mashed potatoes which are a pot of potato’s then blended with instant potatoes so they can be kept quite a few days longer! Mac n cheese from a box and if after 4 days or so it just needs to freshened up they add milk some shredded cheese and orange food coloring! Turnip greens apples sweet potatoes green beans all good but from a can anyway as they claim it’s all me maws homemade recipes! Their breakfast the only thing cooked and actually really good there however then again it’s hard to mess up bacon and sausage or boxed biscuits. Their famous Gravy for the slops is literally pepper gravy in the packs door dashed from Walmart with sausage bits added and when she uses too much water instead of adding more gravy mix she calls it milk gravy for the day…umm no milk used! And the complaints I do see often about tasting of old oil is because the oil may be changed once every couple weeks usually just adding some fresh oil to the old! And bacon and sausage is cooked in bulk and refrigerated which usually results in whomever gets the last of the bacon or sausage receiving sometime a week two week old bacon or sausage and every single thing in the menu that has chicken other than the fried which is krogers is Walmarts rotisserie chicken ordered hot and pulled from the bone even the turkey and dressing day is rotisserie chicken and boxed stuffing with packet gravy they mix! Nothing is homemade as they advertise or boast and brag And all of the TEAS are literally sweet tea with syrup flavors added… none of the other ingredients for your health and energy that is advertised! You would be better off getting a plate lunch from Kroger much cheaper that’s where your chicken or meat comes from anyway and at least your more likely to get fresh veggies cooked that day! It just couldn’t go unsaid their nonnie and poppi plates and food that is all supposed to be memaws recipes and all home cooked food is not that! I mean everything else their hobnob fries, corny cornielius, fried ravioli literally all frozen dropped in old grease and served with cute little names…that’s it! The one thing I have seen with most complaint is the pancakes not being what they thought they were getting because yes it all sounds really good especially the fruit pancakes they advertise but what you actually get is boxed pancake mix then mixed with whichever flavor it is you ask…strawberry, banana, blueberry….all those are are cake flavors mixes they add to pancake mix. No fresh fruits nothing like that, yes your “mix ins” they offer are cake mixes. I just had to put it out there and if the Dickson Health Department would come and do an inspection I 100% would bet they wouldn’t be able o stay open through it! *Our Pepsi machine is brand new but could not seem to keep the cold plate cool enough to have the drink flavors not taste wonky, this was repaired by Pepsi today. We had no clue you have to keep the cool plate in the machine cool or it will taste flat. 🙈 *All 4 pastas are made fresh each morning at 8am and placed in our ovens to stay hot all day long. We will add cheese, sauce & spices and thru the day to freshen up just as any restaurant industry does. No oil or grease additives is included but what the ingredients may release once baked together.👍 Catering side is different per event & request of the clients. Each dilemma or issue that day is revise & resolved without stressing the clients to improvise. We aim for 💯 satisfaction. All trial & error! 💕 Our shakes are made to order so each one is unique, if you prefer thick or thin, please let us know. We are happy to create according to your desire. 🙌 Cakes & Sweets are all custom orders with 2-3 weeks ahead of time notice for booking requested. WE WANT TO SAY YES TO ALL but we also still have our full careers as well plus other bookings. We want to ensure enough time juggling other orders that your design gets 💯 attention. 🍰🧁 *Our staff is top notch with the best work ethic. We work daily to see what we can improve. Our staff steps up when we are not on site daily. Besides our staff, both Jessica & Tasha have full time outside careers in the healthcare industry. We are all human with crazy lives. 😜

Finally, we are amazed at the outcome from what we our bringing to this community. Thank you for the friendships new & old thru Maryann & Wanda’s. We are blessed at what this is becoming & can’t wait to see what the future...

My daughter and I went tonight for the first time. We waited nearly 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were there. I finally got up and went to the register and asked if we were supposed to order there. The waitress apologized and said she’d come take our order. We ordered a ham sandwich and a flatbread. Our waitress brought us our drinks and we never saw her again for an hour. I went to another waitress and asked for more drinks. She apologized and said the other girl was new. My sandwich finally came out and my daughters flatbread didn’t come out for another 15 mins later. I had to go back and ask for flatware. The other waitress apologized again. Our waitress had just stopped coming to our table by that time. My sandwich was small with two thin slices of ham on it. One thin slice of cheese, a thin slice of pineapple, and two spinach leaves. Also got a small handful of sweet potato fries. Glad I wasn’t that hungry. My daughters flatbread was exceptionally small. She was still hungry when we left. It was more of a small appetizer. The waitress came to our table and said she had been given permission to comp our meal for us. I didn’t ask for this or ever acknowledge that I was not pleased with the service. She knew it was bad and did the right thing. We’ll try them once more but if it’s a similar experience, we won’t go back.
