La familia — Restaurant in Dodge City

I am a Barbacoa fanatic and get it often when I come across it. I Doordashed barbacoa tacos yesterday from a different location and they were so good I was thinking about them all day. So when dinner time came around I decided on a 2nd round, but instead of ordering from the same place I decided to spread the love and try La Familia. I must say, I wish I had stuck with the tacos tapatia place. Barbacoa is the cheek, it's super fatty and stews for hours. The meat should be moist and greasy and flavorful. It doesn't need anything on it, it's just great on it's own. That's how it was yesterday from the other place. I ordered 10 tacos today, and the meat was bone dry, like jerky. Like it was cooked 3 days ago and drained of all the oil. It didn't even leave much of a mark on the tortilla. There was more raw onion and cilantro than meat. I also orders the flan, which in the picture on the app looks like a slice of homemade flan your tia or abuella would make. What I go was one of those plastic cup flans they sell at the grocery store in a soup of liquid cream. And their fresh brewed sweet tea is just a bottle of Pure Leaf store bought tea. The whole thing was so disappointing I just had Doordash refund my order, I picked the jerky meat out of all the onions and fed it to the dog, and ordered again from...

From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out 10/10. Homemade Chips w/salsa. We had the bag of shrimp, corn and potatoes along with a side of rice. The agua frescos BOMB. Even down to the dessert, flan AMAZING! The customer service was the best! Definitely recommend...
