My family and I went to Catrina Querida 3 days ago for my mom's birthday after the place 2 doors down had really bad service and made us feel unwelcome. Catrina Querida was the complete opposite of that place and such a refreshing change of pace. We felt so taken care of with all the waiters and waitresses as they were super attentive to our needs. The restaurant was decorative beautifully and had such a nice and festive feel. The attire that the workers wore was also so beautiful and added so much to the experience. The decorations, the music, the seating, was just so perfect for us and was exactly the pick-me-up we needed from the prior bad experience. We ordered a bunch of food and let me just say that nobody was even slightest bit disappointed in what they got and by the end there was not a single bite left on a plate. Everything from the enchiladas, to the tacos, to the nachos, were delicious and this is now one of my favorite Mexican restaurant of all time! They came out with dessert and sang happy birthday to my mom and we felt so welcome and invited that we stayed like 3 hours just eating and talking and overall having the best time. I can't wait to go back again and would definitely recommend everyone to go visit Catrina Querida...
Read moreI dined in for dinner. We were told a 30 min wait and we’re sat in 15 min after which was good. The restaurant aesthetic is very nice. We ordered chicken nachos, green shrimp aquachiles, and a 3 beef tacos and 2 shrimp tacos. It came out around 90$ for everything. The server was very attentive and came around. The chicken nachos were delicious. The server offered us hot sauce but did not explain how hot it really is. Which I think is something important to make the customer aware of what they are eating. In that case, the server has to keep in mind about bringing water due to the heat content. I then tried to green aquachiles, I can say that the chips for the aquachiles were stale and did not taste fresh at all. The shrimp in the aquachiles tasted like it’s been sitting in a container for awhile and they just garnished it afterwards. I was expecting the sauce of the aquachiles to atleast have some flavor but it was pure neutral water flavor no lime no lemon no salt which is what it needs. Lastly, we had the tacos, the beef tacos do not come with any cheese expect naked tacos. My shrimp tacos with cabbage were delicious and the ingredients were perfect for this dish. Overall, good time, quick service, but need some...
Read moreIf you're looking for an authentic Mexican dining experience, this beautiful restaurant is a must-visit. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a vibrant atmosphere with soft Mexican music playing in the background and a stunning Day of the Dead-inspired decor. The waitstaff, dressed in traditional Mexican attire, adds an extra touch of authenticity.
Our waitress, Maria Jose, was a standout—friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We kicked things off with the guacamole con chicharrón appetizer, which came out quickly and was absolutely delicious.
As for the entree, I had the quesabirria, and let me tell you—it was an absolute "mouthgasm!" I've had my fair share of birria tacos, but this was hands down the best I've ever tasted. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, leaving me craving more.
To top off the meal, we indulged in the cuatro leche for dessert, and it was just as incredible as the rest of the meal.
From the atmosphere to the food and service, this place checks all the boxes. I’m definitely coming back and will be recommending it to all my friends and family. Wishing Catrina Querida all the success...
