I'll start off by saying I always rave about this place. The food has always been fresh and tasty. We have been ordering takeout for a very long time and did again today. I ordered the same thing I always get, the Friday special churasco de pollo which is advertised as grilled. What arrived today was a shriveled, fried chicken quarter. Having cooked and fried chicken in a kitchen for 5+ years, I know the difference between grilled and fried. I took a bite and not only did it taste like fryer oil, but when I bit into it oil oozed out. Had it not been so overcooked I probably would have just eaten it, but it was dry and tasted strongly of oil.
I called and the woman on the phone was rude right from the start, insisting I called the wrong location because she has no order under our name. I was sitting there when the order was placed over the phone and we gave them the right name. The woman was incredibly unhelpful, didn't bother to ask what we ordered so she could look up the order, just insisted I called the wrong location. At that point I handed the phone to my coworker who speaks spanish because I was getting nowhere.
She put the phone on speaker and explained how the chicken was fried instead of grilled. The woman insisted that's not how they cook it and flat out refused to do anything about it. Nevermind its fried..it was overcooked and awful tasting. No, she didn't care about that either or the fact that we've always ordered and enjoyed their food...it didn't matter to her. Unless you cooked my chicken personally, you have no idea what went on back there. They probably forgot about it and knew cooking it on the grill would take too long so they threw it in the fryer. At least make the situation right!
This is by far the WORST customer service I have ever encountered. How do you expect people to pay for improperly prepared and terrible tasting food?! And then say, "You signed for it." Maybe Im only one person, but you should be absolutely ashamed of yourselves for this type of treatment, especially to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family and I went to Patacon Pisao 3 days ago for my mom's birthday and were super excited to try out the food especially since some extended family was over. It's important to note that we are all Colombian and have had good experiences with other Colombian restaurants in the past. When we walked in, you could immediately feel the tense sort of atmosphere in the restaurant and none of the waitresses greeted us when we walked in. We sat down and started looking for what we wanted to order to eat and drink. The ladies that were attending us were very judgmental and made us feel very unwelcome overall when we were asking questions about the food and drinks. We caught them gossiping about us, kept whispering around us, and giving each other looks when they thought we wouldn't notice. The male server was really nice and genuine, but we felt so unwanted by the waitresses and didn't appreciate how we were being served so we ended up getting our drinks to go and left the restaurant. Overall, not only were we upset at the service, but also highly disappointed in their behavior towards us especially seeing as though we expected at least basic respect as human beings. I would not go back to this restaurant again even though we wanted to try the huge patacones so bad. Maybe we'll try the miami location instead. Look out when you head to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHeard a lot about this place. So went to try. I travel to Colombia many times in 20 years so I know Colombian food and juices Most disappointing. Donāt know where to start. Place was empty. No hostess. Had reservation and the very hospitable waitress had no clue who I was. Ordered a bottle of still water for the table and got a single bottle of Perrier. I knew it was going to be worse from there. Not sanitary at ALL. Looked and felt like a tired and dirty place. The food was just ok and as the commercial says ājust ok is not okā... The sweet waitress had no clue in wines and there is no list. You can pick from 3 low quality bottles of wine; the kind I would not even let my college kids drink. Iāve never seen anything like that before. They were washing the wine glasses because not enough clean ones with less than 10 patrons at the time. With Andres Carne de Res coming, Ocio, Mondongoās and Monserrate in town this placeās days are numbered in double digits. You can tell itās struggling and in a bad way. Very sad....nothing will make me return. Sad because itās rated number 1 Colombian on TripAdvisor so at one point it must have been a pinnacle place for...
