This was our first time visiting The Doral Yard and we were genuinely impressed. It's our new favorite spot in Miami! The setup with food trucks and an array of restaurant options gave off a trendy, lively vibe that reminded us a lot of the Newton Food District in Singapore. Definitely a cool spot to explore and hang out and try a lot of restaurants and food trucks.
We chose to dine at Sufrat Mediterranean Grill, and it turned out to be the highlight of our evening. Hands down, this was the best Lebanese food we’ve had outside of the Middle East. That's saying a lot for world travelers like us.
We started with the hummus topped with chicken shawarma—incredible flavor, warm and fluffy bread, and just the right portion size. At $10, it was also a great value. For our main, we shared the Sufrat Combo, which came loaded with beef, lamb, and chicken kebabs along with both chicken and beef shawarma. Everything was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and cooked to perfection. For our family of four, we took half of it home. The yellow rice was seasoned perfectly. For dessert, we had the kanafa. It was so warm and cheesy and cooked to perfection.
The only reason for the missing star was the service. It took over 15 minutes just to get water, and only after we mentioned it to someone. The restaurant seemed understaffed, and while service was slow, our waitress Samantha was doing her absolute best. She was clearly hustling, stayed composed, and we appreciated her effort and professionalism under pressure.
Parking is kind of a pain in the butt. We parked in the parking garage behind the restaurant and were told to get our ticket validated. We did and still ended up paying $9 for parking. I am not sure if our hostess actually validated it or not, or if this is the going rate.
We’ll definitely be back—and hoping they add more staff soon because the food is...
Read moreIn my opinion Miami lacks great Mediterranean food options for the most part and Sufrat is a reflection of that.
I was excited about this place, but they fell short from service to quality of the food.
With a place at not even 25% capacity, why the business forces one to seat outside with the excuse the place is booked. It turned out I was there for 40-45 min, dined, left and it looked not even half full inside by the time I left. In addition to that, they turned away 3 parties who didn't want to seat outside. My table was next to the host and I got to listen their convos. I don't think this is a smart practice.
The whole experience felt rushed, we were 3/4 into the appetizers when the main courses arrived. Empty bottle of water was removed at some point and no additional water was brought until I asked for.
For the food, I asked for the dipping sampler, Greek salad, the falafels, the chicken kabob and the kafta kabob with rice, fries and pita as a side.
The dipping sampler looked beautiful but I would give it 3 out of 5. The hummus was mostly tahini, just tahini flavor came through. The labneh was good. The muhammara was alright, lacking salt and flavor. Lastly, the baba ghanoush was actually good, with a lot of smokiness coming through, I enjoyed it with the warm pita.
The falafels were good and the Greek Salad was overly salty and not what you would think a...
Read moreWe visited this place over the weekend, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Miami. Expect to wait around 2 hours for your food. That’s no exaggeration. The service was atrocious, and the staff seemed completely overwhelmed and unequipped to handle the volume of orders.
If you're drowning in orders, the responsible thing to do is stop accepting new ones. Instead, they kept piling them on, with no regard for wait times or customer experience. After waiting over an hour with no update, not a single staff member had the courtesy to check in or ask if we were willing to keep waiting. When we finally decided to cancel, after two full hours, even that process was frustrating and met with the usual apathetic response: “I’m just the waiter. I can’t help.” No apology, no compensation, just indifference.
To top it off, I had to keep extending my parking because of the delay, and when I finally received the incomplete order, the food itself was thoroughly underwhelming. Mostly a heap of dry white pita with fast-food-quality sides. It honestly felt like one of those overhyped spots you find on social media that completely fails to deliver in real life.
Foodies, do yourself a favor and skip this place. There are far better Mediterranean options in Miami that actually respect your time, your money, and your palate. This was a...
