Dae Jang Gum — Restaurant in Doraville

The people here are quite kind, and the food is quite good! Despite us getting our food to-go, the food was truly exceptional and well packed. The bibimbap, kimbap (we picked up two packs - one veggie, and the other beef), and yukgaejang all tasted very fresh and reminded me of my parents' homecooking. This is literally the best Korean food I've had outside my mother's and aunt's homes here in Atlanta. The flavors were really well-balanced. Plus, the bibimbap had a really nice fresh variety of banchan. The gimbap were rolled really well, the ratio of rice to other fillings was perfect, and the size of the rolls were ideal (not too small, not too large - just right)!

More importantly, the lady here was so kind. I really hope many people support this business! She went out of her way to thoughtfully repack my food in the box so that I wouldn't spill the iced coffees I had bought next door (Tous Les Jours) while waiting for my food.

I have frequented this H-Mart and the surrounding stores many times before, but have never eaten at Dae Jang Kum. I always see people ordering from this restaurant and eating off of the trays the food is served on. Today, my boyfriend and I’s appetite was finally up to trying this place and we were not disappointed in the slightest. This place is top of the line! The food is absolutely delicious, took no time at all to be ready, and the staff was very kind. I got the glass noodles (#16) which were very warm in temperature, although not too hot to eat. The flavor of the noodles was slightly sweet, yet savory at the end; I couldn’t get enough of them. My boyfriend got the stone pot bibimbap (#21) and didn’t leave a morsel behind. The stone pot itself was extremely hot to the touch, which made the food perfect. The rice on the bottom of the pot was crispy and delicious and the vegetables in both dishes were so fresh! My partner and I eat here every Sunday for lunch regardless of whether or not we have shopping to do. The quality of every meal we’ve ordered is more than exceptional. My personal favorite is the Galbi Tang. This is the best soup I have ever had hands down! 🙇🏽 It saved my life one day after a hangover and I’ve respected this meal ever since. You won’t find meat this tender just anywhere! My partner loves to order the Kimchi Jigae and can’t go too long without it before she starts malfunctioning, 🤯.
