I have shopped in this store many times and most times found the service quite good, not great, but good. Sometimes the owner is short with his customers, including me and rushes you when you have questions.
I placed an order online for pick-up. I drove to the store to pick up the item and was told that the young lady who works at the Sophia Store tried to call me to let me know that one of my items was not in stock. I received no such call. I was apologized to by the young man who usually works in the back. I showed him that the item that he stated was not in stock was still showing in stock on the website. His reply was only that he was sorry and it was not available.
So, yesterday I went to pick up items (Sunday, 05.30.2021) which clearly showed in stock with plenty of inventory on their website. I searched for the item which came in two colors and asked the owner if he could help me locate it. I gave him the item number, he said "Oh, that is not in stock." i pulled it up on my phone and showed him that per the website, it was in stock and was in my cart. I was going to order it online for pick-up, but got burnt once before and decided to drive up here first. He then told me that you cannot go by the website,.. the inventory is not correct. I told him that that is not good for the customer or our customers who are interested in the items and asked if their website inventory was set up in real time... no attitude.. He, again rushed me and said that "inventory on website not good." I left without purchasing anything.
I am placing this review at 11:57 a.m. on Monday, 05.31.2021 and at this time, the items are still in my cart showing availability for purchase as it has shown since Friday, May, 28, 2021. It is unfortunate that the website is unreliable for customers who rely on their accuracy and are spending money in their store. His blatant disregard and lack of concern is bad customer service. I hate putting this review because there are great people who work there and also they have great products and that is why I am not giving it a score of 1. But I was very disappointed. I took the time to drive a fair distance only to be treated with disregard and unable to purchase what I clearly thought was available, per their unreliable website. And I do understand that someone can purchase an item while the order is being placed, but as some point, you update the website or spend a few extra dollars to sync your in store purchases with the website as other stores do who sale wholesale. Not good business...
Read moreWent into this store and I had a shopping bag from a previous store! The store next door where I just spent 1000 dollars. As me and my friend walked in, I asked the guy at the register should I leave my shopping bag with him or am I allowed to take it with me!?!?! He said he will take it! So I handed it to him and as I walked away he stops me and says give me your purse too and Your friends purse also!!! What?!?!?? Mind you my friend is 50! She’s like my mother/mentor! There were other women in the store shopping with their purse on their arms! But the only difference was that they were white and we were black! I asked for my shopping bag back and we left out! I shopped there before a few years back and I don’t remember me having to leave my purse with anyone! I will continue to go to LA and China and do all my shopping for my store with the vendors I know, love and developed a great relationship with! They’ll never see another penny of my money or my friends and family! I will be sure to tell everyone that will listen about these...
