If you are craving for a good Japanese food, please try this, especially if you like salmon, crab meat and rolls. Such a great salmon quality. Great thing about this place is they use a lot of sashimi meat instead of trying to fill them with rice or other ingredient.
Order Shumai which is steamed shrimp dumplings. It has good shrimp taste and soft texture. It's a great starter before any main entry. They fit in your mouth really well. Kids would like them if they don't eat raw fish.
Sunomono is really good sashimi conglomerate. Octopus and salmon are in great color and taste. It is soaked with just right amount of sauce. Another great starter that will excite up your taste buds.
You should definitely try rolls. I've ordered Salmon Crunch Roll and Volcano Roll, and they are better than other restaurants that I tried such as Ginya or Shoya. They take it serious when they make them. Salmon Crunch Roll has a lot of salmon on top of rolls and inside the rolls. Salmon is fresh. Sauce is well-balanced. The crunch topping enhances the flavor. Volcano Roll has crab meat piled up on the rolls! Great thing about their rolls is that it's got a lot of meat and delicious sauces.
Salmon combo is another option if you like salmon. I love salmon, so every time I go to a Japanese restaurant, I order a couple of salmon sashimi plates. This place has very fresh salmon that has both good taste and texture. They are sliced in the right way to have appropriate amount of white and orange stripes. They go really well with anything.
People there are nice, and the place has good atmosphere. Very polite and approachable.
Summing up, go for it. You won't just visit once...

My buddies Doug and Bryan and I had dinner at Yokohama on December 20, 2022. It was Doug's and my first time; Bryan had been there a couple of times and recommended the place. The ambience was simple and unpretentious, without much decoration. There were booths along the walls. At the sushi station there were two chefs busy at making sushi. That was a good sign. That meant there were enough orders to keep two chefs busy. The owner was there, behind the cash register, all smiles. Bryan said the owner, Japanese, does not speak a word of English. He recognized, smiled and waved at Bryan.
I suggested we start with the calamari appetizer. Doug and Bryan had beers. I stuck to my water. The calamari was excellent. Battered and fried just right. Next we had a Korean pancake, which could have been a meal all by itself. For my main course I ordered the shrimp and vegetable tempura entrée. Doug and Bryan shared a chef's choice dish of sashimi. The tempura was excellent. Whenever I check out a Japanese restaurant for the first time, I order either a tonkatsu ramen or a shrimp tempura; these are basic Japanese dishes, among others. A restaurant worth returning to must prepare these dishes well. And Yokohama passed with flying colors. I tried a slice or two from the sashimi plate. The fish was fresh and melted in my mouth. Excellent as well.
All in all, a place I would...
Read moreCame in 7 pm. My friend and I ordered at the same time at 7:15. My friends food came out 7:25. Mine didn't come out until 7:45. I was waiting so long the young male server came to apologize for the wait. But it wasn't so much as an apology as it was a matter-of-fact too bad too sad attitude. It was infuriating because people who had been sat later than me were getting their food before me. In case anyone is thinking my order was complicated, it was a salmon role and a yellowtail role . Very simple order, much more so than the other orders that were being brought to other patrons sat after we were. When my food finally came out the salmon and yellowtail roll both had very apparently gone bad. They were completely inedible. To add to frustrations when I voiced this issue to the middle aged lady server, she went and spoke to what appeared to be her husband /owner. This man rolled his eyes at the situation, refused to come to talk to us and acted as if we had come to score free food !! After a near hour wait and spoiled food!!!! the lady came back with our check even though we hadn't asked for it??? She had taken my rolls off, but the sheer audacity and attitude of the young male server and the owner was unacceptable. I will NOT be coming back....
