I can't even give this place one star, but to add a review I have to give at least one star. After 15 years in restuarant service as well as an additional 14 years in other customer service oriented jobs I was appalled at the service and the behavior of the management at this restuarant. First, why put shredded iceberg lettuce on a salad when the salad is supposed to have iceberg lettuce in the first place. This wasn't a taco or even a taco salad. Then, the wait for our food was very long and the place only had 6 tables seated. Additionally, none of our food was hot, even after being told one of our member had to wait on his sausage to cook, it came out barely warm. Others waited longer than we did and ended up walking out without getting their order. The lone server on shift went back to cancel the order and came out bawling. She had to step outside for some time to compose herself. Finally, when we asked for the manager we were told they couldn't find her, but she claimed she was on the line cooking because they were shorthanded. Yet, when confronted with the issues by myself she was rude. When a younger member of our party called her on it she attempted to shut her down like she was a child, but is in fact an adult, telling her to act like an adult. The complainant was neither rude, nor did she use foul language. She was upset and raised her voice. Then, she tried to kick us out. We hadn't paid our bill so I told her she could pay for my bill but I wanted the franchise owner's number. She stopped, wrote something on our bill, then headed to the back. After which the general manager, who was supposedly not there, comes out wanting to know what happened and had clearly been lied to by someone because he attempted to say that he couldn't control how customers talk to servers. No customer had spoken rudely with the server aside from expressing their displeasure with the wait time, cancelling the order, and stating they wouldn't be back. The GM chose to pay our bill and provided the franchise owner's number after an explanation of what happened, but stated he was on the line and the other manager was in the dish room. If this was true, why could the front of the house employees not find either of them? Where were they and what were they doing? Don't go here unless you want service...
Read moreIt was the worst experience ever! My mother was having surgery so my brother and I wanted a hot bite to eat. We won’t be going back there. We were sat by a cook maybe that supposedly wasn’t on the clock with menus one silverware set , menus and no napkins. We sat for about 10 minutes . After over hearing two waitresses talking about who has table 5 . Finally one waitress came and apologized for not knowing what was goin on and telling us that the lady who sat us was not on the clock ahe would be back to get our order. The lady who was off had brought our drinks a water and a sprite. After a while the waitress came and took out order. The lady who was off brought our food and we reminded her we only had one silverware. We also needed some napkins mayonnaise and refills on water and sprite. She walked back toward the kitchen and we heard her tell someone out loud what we needed. After several attempts to get our waitress attention with no luck and seeing her help the other tables she had and walking by us cleaning off dirty dishes and tables I saw the off the clock lady to get her attention. By this time we are just like this is ridiculous what’s goin on here? As I raised my hand to call the off duty lady over the waitress comes . Again we tell her the things we need. She comes back with two refills of water. We asked her to fix one for sprite she says ok and then turns to finish cleaning off the table and by this time we are just ready to go after like 2 hrs . I wanted to leave no stars but I had to do one to be able to leave a review. I don’t know if they are short handed or just confused or maybe just don’t want to be there? Whatever the case may be we will be letting everyone we know about our horrible experience as well as finding somewhere else to eat! This is really a shame because the food was actually good . It was just the most horrible service I...
Read moreDenny's, nestled inside the Flying J., is an absolutely great gem of a find! My entire dining experience was filled with multiple pleasant surprises.
Christopher C., greeted and served my dining partner and I. His appealing personality, character, promptness, and eye for detail, coupled with newer generation terminology brought a noticeable smile throughout my entire dining experience.
The menu had a huge colorful selection to choose from. The food is not only appealing to the eye, it awakens your taste buds. Denny's quality of food is equal to what one would find at a much busier, well known competitor with rocking chairs.
I ordered the 13oz. T-Bone dinner served with two sides and garlic bread. The T-Bone was thin, very tender and cooked to perfection medium rare. The portion size was very adequate for a meal. I ordered red mashed potatoes and herb glazed corn as my two sides. The potatoes were thick and creamy made from red skinned potatoes. The herb glazed corn was the best I have had and consisted of small young niblet corn covered in olive oil with what appeared to be parsley flakes, with a flavorful taste of garlic, pepper and a very slight hint of hot sauce. The mixture was a wonderful light refreshing compliment.
My dining partner ordered the Double Berry Pancake Breakfast. The two plate size pancakes were thick, filled throughout with whole fresh blueberries and topped with fresh sliced strawberries and bananas. A wonderful combination of fresh flavor for all taste buds. The eggs were perfectly soft scrambled. The hash browns were cooked medium browned and served with two slices of bacon and two sausage links. The coffee was fresh and flavorful.
Surprisingly, if you want a late night quality dinner, Denny's...
