I haven't written a review in awhile, but I had to express the amazing service and food at El Toro. The greeting is sincere and heart-felt. The food is quality and fresh. Everybody has their own favorite Mexican style restaurant, I had mine too, but this place has something about it...some genuine quality that shines (and the best food overall). I had the "pregnant burrito" w/steak and the steak inside was so delicious, with the prices of meats going up so high lately I had been craving some carne. It certainly did not disappoint! My girlfriend had the chicken nachos. I tried some of it and it was spectacular. My daughter had a kids meal steak burrito and the steak equalled my burrito. The price was as expected for Mexican dinner, not too high. This location is 45 minutes away from us. We found it late one evening on my birthday, coincidentally. We questioned the late night visit but found ourselves a gem. They sang to me and gave me a free dessert for my big 40. When I used the very clean restroom, she had asked them to be quiet about it but they certainly were the opposite. They even pulled my toboggan over my eyes and sounded an air horn and sirens lol. It was a great evening, even if we did get home late (and stuffed), we were happy...and I think you will be too. That's why I'm...
Read moreMy friend and I dine in this restaurant around every 6 weeks. We Dine there so much that we had a card that you stamp every time you buy an entree and even though it's always on one check we only get one stamp but I have never said anything. After nine stamps you get the 10th one free. We were up to eight stamps and for some reason the mammoth cash register who I believe was the owner stamped the card twice and I said something to my friend I said well after all these visits somebody finally stamped it twice because we had bought two entrees. When we went back to the restaurant to use that we were confronted by the waiter who said we had already used are free meal and my friend asked him if that were the case why do we still have the card and he reluctantly agreed after several minutes to let us have the free entree. We had been coming in that restaurant for a couple of years and my friend was extremely embarrassed. I checked my credit card statement to make sure that we had indeed paid for both on trees and one had not been given to us for free and we had. It's a shame to lose good customers over a $10 entree. We have been looking for other Mexican restaurants in the meantime and even though we consider that to be one of our favorite restaurants we...
Read moreI took my family there, and really wasn't that happy. First of all, they set us at a little bity, table that was literally shoved up against the fire exit. Blocking the fire exit. No only is this against the law, it's very dangerous. The fire exit door had duct tape sealing off the cold air, another dream for a fire marshall. 2ed There were 5 tables with 6 chairs each within 5 feet of us, two of which had 2 people seated at them. 3ed The food was fair, but I can't blame them for their menu. None of us finished our meal completely, we had to wait till the manager came by to get more chips and salsa...they really gave us the feeling of being in their way. I will say that our waiter, a tall thin hispanic gentleman was very polite, and friendy.... For a $50 dollar meal, with my family, I would have expected much better seating, the table we were at was so cramped that the servers twice bumped into me in passing our table on the way to other tables, this was the table we waited 20 minutes for. I understand when a place is busy, however, I would have waited longer for better, not to mention it is against the fire code to...
