Went here for dinner with my daughters and the sign said $13.99 right next to the register. The guy asked me "3 buffets?" and I said yes. He slid my card and said "That's $64.17." I asked "isn't it $13.99" and pointed to the sign and he said "no, it's $19.99 and I forgot to change the sign." I said "it would have been nice to know that." and he ignored that and zero apology was offered. The sign also does not say lunch prices, it just said adult and child buffet prices. It was a bit frustrating that he slid my card before telling me how much it was too. Then we get in to eat and the entire sushi bar looks nasty. Old, slimy, brown stuff on the sushi bar. All of the cooked stuff in the line was clearly very old. I waited 30 minutes for an empty pepper chicken dish to be refilled only to have to wave a guy down and point it out so he could get it going. Everything that is supposed to be crispy such as egg rolls, rangons, fried chicken, fried fish, etc. Was soft, rubbery and chewy. The cherries in the salad bar where leathery and lettuce was brown. The graham cracker crust on all the cakes that is supposed to be crispy was complete mush. The broccoli beef had all of the beef out of it and was just full of broccoli. It's been a while since we've been here so it's a shocking contrast to past service. When we used to come in the past there was a guy behind the line with a headset with mic on it calling out dishes that needed refilled or replaced. Everything was always fresh. We sat here for 90 minutes and most Everything stayed looking gross. Everyhting wasn't bad, but nothing was fresh. Between the surprise jump from about $40 to over $60 with no notice, then the old crusty food, we probably will not...
Read morePre-pandemic, this was one of my favorite restaurants. The food used to be so good. Key word: USED to be. I last ate there sometime in 2021 and I noticed a significant decline in food quality. I figured they must just be struggling due to the pandemic so I stopped going there.
Until last week. Me and my friend at work couldn't decide where to eat for lunch so I had the bright idea of going back to Atlantic Buffet to see if their food quality has restored at all. This was a HUGE MISTAKE. Not only does it cost nearly TWICE as much per person as it used to, but the quality of the food is even WORSE than I remembered.
Some things were good, such as the steamed rice, black pepper chicken and sesame seed chicken. However, the sushi I got was iffy but didn't taste off or anything. It wasn't fresh by any means but at least it seemed safe to eat.
The biggest thing that led me to make this review was that my friend got the chicken quesadilla in which he said the chicken "didn't taste right." After we left, my friend noticed his stomach felt off and for the next three days he had nonstop stomach aches and diarrhea.
We didn't expect much going in but it somehow managed to even fall below THAT bar. The workers were nice and the service was good so I'll give them that. But that was the only good thing about our experience.
It was my idea to give this place one more chance to redeem itself, but that was a mistake my poor friend had to pay for for the rest of the week. We paid $21 each for questionable food and one of us got sick because of it. This is simply unacceptable, no questions asked. It's a shame what happened to this place. With a heavy heart, can confidently say that we will NEVER be returning to the...
Read moreAtlantic Buffet is a traditional Chinese buffet that offers various foods, including seafood, steaks, a full salad bar, a full fruit bar, and most traditional Chinese foods. This is the dinner-time buffet review. PROS: Closely located to multiple hotels, including La Quinta, Sleep Inn, Holiday Inn, etc. Literally across the street, walking distance. The restaurant is big, with plenty of parking. The attention is prompt, chairs and tables are comfortable. The food feels fresh, has very good taste, and is something different for everyone. Dinner-time has shrimp, steaks, and fried small crab legs. One side of the buffet aisle is devoted to Chinese food; the other has a diversity of American foods. Plentiful of desserts. The dinner buffet is $15.99 per adult. Kids 12 and older pay as adults. The staff is polite, the cooks maintain the isles and food trays very clean. Curious, the only Chinese staff was the owner. Everyone else working at this restaurant, including cooks, were mostly Hispanic. They do a great job cooking Chinese food. The floor and condition of the restaurant were acceptable. CONS: The air inside the restaurant feels very humid. During our stay, the only music played was upbeat heavy metal from the 80s. Very odd for a Chinese restaurant. Most of the leather chairs at the restaurant are very old, cracked, and the leather is ripped. RECOMMENDATION: A great option for those that live or are passing by the area. Highly...
