Waffle House — Restaurant in Douglasville

Wow! Just wow!!!!

Came in at 630 am on Friday morning. They had three customers in the restaurant. Two employees. One customer at register with one employee, one employee sweeping floor. Two guests at counters and most seats closed for Covid pandemic.

Was told to “sit wherever you like” by girl sweeping.

Last counter unavailable with what looked like employee belongings scattered on it. Every single table I looked at had the remains of previous meals served (crumbs, drink stains and such. The plates and napkins cleared away but EVERY single table dirty.

Now I don’t expect four star service and in better times have no problem being seated and waiting for somebody to wipe the table, but in a time of covid to apply less than ZERO effort to clean, and then encourage your guests to sit down and play in the germs of how many people before them... just not a safe place to be until they decide...

I took my husband to this one on Father's Day and it was a disaster. Our food was cold. I had ordered a ham & cheese omlet and it was cold hash browns were cold. My husband's pecan was so cold it didn't even melt the butter. Then the waitress ordered him another waffle and it was more than 10min and still didn't have it. The girl at the counter was talking on the phone and wasn't interested in listening to my husband's complaint. She still charged us full amount. When we left our waitress was standing outside having a cigarette break where she should have been inside taking care of their mistake and making sure our food was ok. Needless to say I will NEVER, NEVER go back to that place and wouldn't recommend it to ANYONE. Very bad service and...

My friend, fiancee, and I stopped here to wait out a thunderstorm and just be somewhere warm that wasn't my cramped car. The two staff members working there originally told us that they're only doing to-go orders but they let us stay to just wait things out. A few minutes in they asked if we'd like anything to drink, and a little after that they asked what food we'd like to eat and I'm just very grateful for how they treated me and my companions during a time of anxiety for us. D and Naiyah (if I misspelled your names I'm so sorry) are so kind, my companions and I will never forget the kindness they showed us today.
