Okay so this is my second time at this location and it will be my last. The first time I came in I ordered a large pizza and some garlic knots to go. Got home which is only about 10 minutes away and the food was delicious nice and hot, garlic rolls delicious crispy on the outside soft on the inside, perfect. So I decided today Sunday, to come back for dinner. After ordering my calzone, I gave the guy at the front register $20 bucks. My order was $12.83. He handed me $7.00. I stood there waiting for the rest of my change. He appeared to be finished so I asked him where was the rest of my change and he said, that was it. I said no it came up to $12.83 He shrugged and said, "We just round it off to the highest or the lowest." I said Oh really that's what y'all are doing. He said yes. I said, "Without the customer's consent? you just take their change?" He said, Well we don't keep change at the register." So matter of factly. I said but you could have at least said something. You don't shortchange the customer. He said it's just 17 cents. I said I don't care if it's $0.05 If I were at the gas station trying to get gas and I was short .17 of a gallon they wouldn't say hell don't worry about it, just go ahead and fill up. Then he says to me "This is not a gas station." đł They say pick your battles... it's Sunday it's a beautiful day it's a crowded restaurant, so I shook my head and I walked out and came to my car to make this review. It's too bad because it's convenient and the food is very good. As a consumer when I go into a place of business especially a restaurantI don't expect to be spoken to or treated as if my money and my patronage does not matter. I thought that was incredibly rude of him. Now some might say Oh my goodness it was just a few cents. Yeah try being short of a few cents on your electric bill and see if they don't cut your lights off. It's the principal. You don't assume for me that it's ok to short me any of my money. Down to the last penny. I'm sure losing one customer won't make any difference to them because the food is delicious and they're always packed. But the way my principles are set up, I won't be back to this...
Read moreAfter working a 12-hour day, I checked into a hotel and ordered lasagna online from Johnny's New York Style Pizza two miles up the road. In short, they double-charged me for the order, they didn't give me the extra sausage link I ordered, and they didn't give me any plastic ware or napkins. The projected wait time was an hour and a half, they made it in an hour which was fine, I was thankfully already out of the shower, despite all the phone calls I had to make regarding this.
All the food was good. I was very well satisfied with the quality of the food. But...the lasagna was in a 6"foil dish, the food was maybe an inch deep. Clearly pre-made, mostly sauce, with a total of 2 noodles in it. In fairness, the sauce was excellent, and had plenty of meat in it. And the salad was fresh and had a good variety of ingredients. The bread was very good. My pet peeve is small portions. For $11, I should have had an ADULT sized portion. I tipped about 40% on the delivery, in advance. The delivery guy should have remembered to give me something to eat with. But he came back about 20 minutes later so I'm not disputing his tip. This really still falls back on management. Drivers are basically working for tips, and should be managed and trained.
After a long day, I ended up spending about 45 minutes on the phone with my bank and with the establishment for a total of six calls to try to get it right. It shouldn't be this difficult to get something to eat from a delivery place two miles up the street. And after all that, I should have at least gone to bed full. And I never got the extra sausage link that I paid for. The call about that resulted in the crew member telling me that he had no way to do that, even though I selected that option online... And paid for it. I'm dissatisfied with...
Read moreBy far, one of the worst pickup experiences Iâve had at an establishment. Being new to the Slice app and visiting this place for the first time, what couldâve been pleasant and simple, was not. Unbeknownst to me, when ordering from Slice, apparently the order is under âSliceâ and not your name. But when I was asked if I ordered online (yes), the older lady at the register only asked for my name -repeatedly. Since the order was not under my name, she told me it must be at the other store... not that one. I went to my car, thinking maybe that could be so, but checked my phone once more before leaving. It was actually that store and I relayed this to her once I was inside, again. It was so much unnecessary back and forth, with someone that clearly wanted to use every second to tell me I was or what was done wrong, when she couldnât find my order. It was when I went back in to confirm this was my pickup spot, that the âoh, itâs under Slice when you order, not your nameâ revelation occurred. Iâm all for informing your patrons but thereâs a way to do it AND manners go a long way (at least to the businesses I frequent & comment on). Sadly, I watched her have this same type of conversation with another young girl that came in after me to pick up an order that she was delivering. With a marketing background and being in a field where people are the daily top priority, all of this made me uncomfortable. It would be unfair to say all of this and not tell you all that my food was good, once I made it home (did include a vegetable that I requested to not be included on pizza but I dealt with it). Yet... Maybe thatâs just the manner of their business, but I tried supporting this local place that seems favored- which is why I gave it a try, but this was my first...
