The Vitamin Shoppe — Local services in Dover

Poor selection to choose from and very high prices. Pretty much everything costs twice as much in store as it does online at pretty much any place that sells health and fitness supplements other than the vitamin shoppe. Only their disgusting and cheap body tech brand is ever on sale. Even their clearance items are over priced.

Also I was in here one day when the owner or someone in a position close enough was in the store. Very snobby middle aged blonde woman. Wouldn’t even say hello to a customer while rudely staring right at their face and then interrupted an employee checking out another customer by interrupting their conversation to ask him questions about what flavor of energy drink tasted best while she grabbed items in the store for herself to enjoy and then she proceeded to hang out behind the counter casually chatting to the store employee about herself while the customer was asking questions about products in the store again interrupting.

I kind of understood right then and there watching this behavior as to why this store is the way it is. The owners are the problem. Never seen the same employee twice at this store. High turnover rate and overpriced items which keep the place from ever being busy and full of customers. This store isn’t worth the trip. Save your money and just buy your supplements online at the usual source or go to Walmart they’ve improved their selection a lot.

I don’t want to support a store that just marks everything that’s good up 30% to coerce you into buying their cheaper store bodytech...

I went to this location a few months ago. I would give the location 5 stars due to the representative who cashed me out each time. she was very informative and helpful. However, the other personnel at the desk made me feel like I was going to steal from their front desk. It wasn't just me either, another lady came in and they positioned themselves to look out for her as well. I understand if they are seeing more thefts at that location or something, but I don't like to feel uncomfortable when I am about to drop $100 in expensive items I can get cheaper on amazon. My second time there one lady was actually showing another employee where to stand to see where my hands are, using me as the test subject. I think I will shop online for my items or try a...

Haven’t been here in years but still remembered where my usual items of purchase were so I didn’t need assistance.

However while browsing the section, both the manager and employee kept hanging around to watch me…. the employee even came up and pretended to check some inventory 2 feet from me, only to quickly disappear from the area as soon as I shifted to browse another section.

I’m honestly tired of being racially profiled when genuinely minding my business and trying to have a quiet, peaceful, and slow-paced shop (since when does reading the labels and taking time to make an informed decision = stealing??). I’m switching to GNC, good news, & online shopping for all...
